Oh and to LaLa Ribbons came today they are beautiful. Love the metal stars! They look much better than I thought! Thank you so much.
Thats good to hear I ordered them also but didnt get them yet!

I ordered from Lala also.. bet they are beautiful..

My son had watch 08-12 on holiday.. didn't have much time to write.. What I can't understand is if section leaders say an SR is good to go with whichever inspection the day before and then the RDC inspects and gives them a bad mark.. What is all that about.. I've heard it a couple different times from different moms.. Just wondering.. Some of the SR's or horified to get set back.. and this doesn't help at all

i love letter days!

this week they had drill inspection & test #2 (?)

5-2 day they get their second round of shots..ouch!

he said our DIV is scheduled for phone calls on 6/1, hopefully all of our boys will be calling to tell us they are officially SAILORS! :)  keep your phones on you in case they get awarded with an extra phone call! that would be amazing.

littlemiss I keep mine on me at all times even at work.. Luckily my boss has gone thru this with her son and knows what it is like she even had me give him the direct line just in case my cell phone fails.. but it won't it is fully charged all the time.. Plus I don't think their phone calls will be to long.. Hope the calls will be a little longer than a few minutes, but we don't know.. Thanks again.. Did you mean they already got a second round of shots?.. In the letter I received my son is part of ship staff and had watch on 5/15 from 08 to 12 so didn't have much time for a letter.. then went to medical and found out he has pink eye.. He is trying so hard but scared to death any little thing will get him set back.. I am telling him in the reply letter it is my understanding only a major illness or injury would cause a set back, but even then they try real hard to have them graduate with the same division.. Is that right?,.. anyway hope so

they should have gotten their 2nd set of shots sometime this week. im sorry your son has pink eye! unless they have a pretty serious illness, RTC tries their best to have the men graduate on time. they don't want to hold them back(unless they have poor performance, of course). i'm sure hes worried, but they'll give him meds and it should clear right up. germs spread easy with them all being confined and tossed around with so many different people per day. i hope her gets better! only 13 days!
Got a half hour phone call from my son today @ around 1700.. he sounded fantastic.. tried to fit a lot in that half hour.. hope all of you get a call

i missed today's call.

so far, i've missed both :(

Ship 09 div 192.

we got a call today and all is good with him.  It was so good to hear his voice.

littlemiss.. oh know.. I feel so bad for you.. I was getting ready to head out to have dinner with some friends.. but I do have my cell phone now.. Dang that is awful.. I know how that feels.. I missed the first one myself.. Are you alright.. Don't fret.. he keeps you informed a lot more than my son does about what is going on.. and we only have 11 days left.. he will call again 6/1 for " I'm a Sailor".. do you have a cell phone?.. Will you be in route to GL for PIR on 6/1?.. I just want to make sure you are alright.. I would be devistated as I'm sure you are or were.. Try to look to the future 11 days.. 11 days.. 11 more blasted days.. {{{{ HUGS }}}}

@giraffe

Thank you for the encouragement! I've been at work both days that hes called. He left voicemails and said he loves me, but I feel bad for missing them! I wish I could call back! I'll be alright though, 11 days! We're getting so close. He did say in a voicemail that they are supposed to get another call next Friday as well. (if they keep doing what they need to, of course) I'm off that day, so hopefully I'll get that one! I'm leaving Wednesday 6/1 for PIR. We're driving so I can be sure not to miss the sailor call. As long as I don't miss that one, I'll be happy!

I'm glad you got to talk to your son! It helps to hear their voice. How is he doing?

littlemiss He is doing pretty good.. still has a touch of the pink eye he said.. but said they should call it RED eye.. lol He said it came on really fast.. he wasn't sure what it was but didn't want it to set him back so suffered thru it for a few days (which made it worse).. He said he had a pretty high fever for a couple days last week, but it broke so he didn't have to go to medical.. his body fighting off some kind of germ.. maybe the pink eye..  Said he has been drinking a big glass of orange juice before breakfast and all the meals he can if offered.. that seems to be helping. Said they are still doing fire drills and others getting prepared for BS, but not to worry.. seems they will all pass that..

He said the recruiters didn't include part of his college transcripts so instead of entering BC as and E2 like he was supposed to he is @ E1.. he was supposed to leave BC as an E3.. said he'll have to get all that straightened out at A school .. hope he does for his sake

Where you driving from littlemiss?

My eldest son is flying up from FL and we are driving from PA
