Hi, I'm looking for any other families who have someone on Ship 09/Division 205.

Hi fa4airtrain, that's awesome for him to be in great shape like that. I'm sure he's worked long and hard at keeping himself in top shape. I'm so happy to hear that they are buddies!! You don't have to apologize, my son would say the exact same thing about him. He does love soccer. I just sent printouts of all these soccer scores. Its very confusing, there are so many different ones. Oh well, at least I tried LOL. I can't wait to see my son in his sailor uniform. I could cry just thinking about it.
Doesn't it break your heart when they get punished like that? I'm really looking forward to boot camp being over. We have 25 days left!! I wrote my son telling him, when we were waiting for him to leave it flew by so fast that I know these 25 days will fly by too. I can't wait to receive another letter, a phone call would be awesome too, but I will settle for a letter. Take care ladies and lets pray for 6/17 to get here real soon!! I hope you all have a wonderful night and a great day tomorrow!!!
Got another shorter letter today. He mostly talked about the food. He also said they got another haircut but left it a little longer on the top. He said the Div is very proud of their scholastic flag that they got.
Have a great weekend Ladies.
Good afternoon, Ladies. Does anyone know what week they're in now? Week Five? I'm assuming with their having their haircuts last week and their PT0, that week 4 is behind them. Somewhere in all that I've read on N4M, there was something that said they count the days/weeks like 4-1 for the 1st day of the fourth week. I've only seen that referred to once or twice ( where other things have been discussed many times). I've asked my SR to tell me what day they are on in one of his letters then I can match that to the calendar date and follow along a little better when the letter finally gets to me. I was also counting from that Wed when they finally got to GL after the flight delays, but I understand they were detained longer in P-days waiting for the group to get a little bigger so that would not match up to only spending 1 week from their day of arrival in P-days. Hope you're heads aren't spinning from my long drawn-out question. : )
Hope you all had a great weekend and I look forward to hearing they are ALL sailors! Praying for them to stay safe, injury free, well and that my son will learn to run as fast as your athletically-inclined loved ones!
Got a long letter today. He mostly answered questions that I had asked him & gave me a little more info on his A school and how long it would be and THAT I COULD COME VISIT HIM THERE after a couple of weeks. He will be in Meridian, Mississippi - sounds like a long hot summer to me. He said one of the SRs has A school for 18 months. He is kinda glad he is just doing reserves for now.
He said PO let it slip that she was taking them to get a phone call Sunday (he wrote this letter last Wed.) but I guess they did't get to because my phone has not left my side since the last missed call.
Kathy, My SR said he is craving McDonald's too. He hates 2% milk & skim milk & that is all they get so he is also craving a big glass of whole milk & Oreos.
He said that other than Battle Stations, they are pretty much done the last week and just practice for grad.
Cindy, my SR tried to explain the week & day thing in one letter but I have lost track of where they are so am as confused as you.
Hi fa4airtran,
That's awesome that they are just practicing for graduation. At least the worst is behind them. The only challenge for them will be Battlestations. I know they will pass with flying colors!!
My son said that their marching is really improving. He said they lost 2 more kids so that brought them down to 74. He said it feels amazing to be halfway through with boot camp.
My son said there are guys there that really don't receive any letters, so he had them write to a couple of his female friends and also his sister. I think its awesome how the girls are writing back to the SR's. I love how he has such a big heart and is always thinking of others first. I know he will make some lifetime friends from boot camp.
Hi KrisMom,
Welcome to our group, we may not be a large group but between all of us we keep each other informed of what's going on. My son has been pretty good with sending letters which makes me so happy. It was so good to hear his voice when he called. I wish they could call again!! He said he loved talking with us and it really cleared his head and helped him to keep going. Well were all looking forward to 6/17. I just can't wait to give him the biggest hug and just kiss his face!!!
So if you should have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! Have a great night and I'll talk to you all soon!
Hi Ladies! Happy I found your group. My SR is also in Ship 09 DIV 205.
I haven't received too many letters so it's great to read all the updates.
My SR has 18 months of Nuke school as well. Guess he will be with your son, MamaCindy:)
Also, in answer to your question they were in a very long holding period. 1-1 was May 3. So, today they are starting 4-1 (which I'm confused about because then the last week they will only go to 7-5?)
Nice to meet you all!
They are not practicing for grad yet -- just the last week after BS. Anyway I got a 30 minute call today!!!!!! And Cathy, it is because of your wonderful son that I did. My SR said your SR and the female PO had a shoe shining competition. His looked better and the wager was - if he won, she would have to buy him McDonald's. Well she said, "Let's let div 206 decide whose look the best." They all voted that your SR's looked better. He then asked her if he could have a phone call instead and she said why, you've gotten one already. He said "I want to give it to ---- (my SR), because he didn't get in touch with his gf when he tried last Monday. She said "I didn't know that" and gave my SR a 30 min. call today. I forgot to ask if your SR got his McDonald's though. I just wanted to cry because your SR was so selfless and giving to another of his pals. What a wonderful son you have raised. That is what the epitome of Navy honor is all about!
Anyway, he said this week is "hell week" where they have two inspections of some sort everyday. They did Marlinspike yesterday which he said was fun. They are also doing something with their weapons that they have to get absolutely right - something about loading or unloading it & passing it to the guy in back of them.
He also said he is getting tired of breakfast because it is exactly the same thing every day. He thinks he actually has gained some weight but is getting his six pack abs back.
Wishing all of you many letters this week!
Hi Fa4airtran,
I'm so happy you received your call. I know how upset you were because you missed it. It really warms my heart to know that my son thought of your SR. It really makes me think back to all the years of preaching and teaching them right from wrong and the whole time you thought it was going in one ear and out the other. Well its instances like this that reassure me, he really was listening. I am so very proud of the man he turned out to be. He has the biggest heart in the world. I truly love my son and my daughter with all my heart and soul. Thank you for the kind words about raising my son. I'm looking forward to meeting you and your SR at graduation!!
Thank you too MamaCindy, I also hope to meet your SR. Well girls, here's to hoping we continue to receive letters. I'm going to sign off now so I can write my son a letter. Have a great night and hope to talk to you soon!!
Cathy
