Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Mine left 5/31 too - they are in P week, did you get your call? I still have not received my box. I started a PIR group for 7/29/11

Mine left 5/31 as well. I got the call that night at 11:00 pm (her plane landed around 6:00 or 6:30). My Ex-husband got the box yesterday (though she was instructed to tell me that it could be 2-3 weeks). I understand some don't make the call--if there are too many using the phones and their cell phones have died. No news, in this case, is probably good news. If he hasn't called you to say he didn't, then he has by now, made it through most or all of processing.
I'm sorry you didn't get a call yet since it could be a while now. Thanks for starting the PIR group. See you there.

This is an open site. One of you should send the other person a "friend" request (by clicking on her icon, then click "add as friend" when you get to the person's page). The recipient of the request must accept for the two of you to start using the Navy 4 Moms private message system. Within Navy 4 Moms, we only know each other by our screen names. Of course, if you prefer you can exchange regular email addresses but I would recommend doing so within a N4M private email. Good luck to both of you.

Just wanted to pass on some advice. My son left on May 25 and I told him the same thing. While traveling to bootcamp try to get as much sleep on the plane, in the airport because you will not get much when you arrive. I received my "Mom I'm here call" at 0142 (1:42am for non-military) so I know he got maybe 3 hours tops. Also while at the airport get something to eat. It will be your last chance until the next day. I got the phone back in his box but he has a phone card for when he does get to call home. I went to bootcamp in 79 and went to corps school in Great Lakes. I retired with 21 years and got my RN. Lots of wonderful opportunities for navy corpsman. Good Luck.

My daughter too, leaves on the 31st and is also HM. Wonder if they are all for the same division.
We are at the hotel right now, in Dallas, and my husband has gone out to get us dinner. I'm feeling very anxious and almost as nervous as Charlotte.

I loved being a corpsman. I was a general duty corpsman and got to work all over the hospital. My son will go to Corps school in San Antonio after he has PIR July 22. Kinda sad since I went to Corps school in Great Lakes. After I left active duty I went back to school and became a RN. Made Nursing school alot easier. Tell your daughter good luck and welcome aboard. She will do fine.

Got Charlotte sworn in and shipped out of Dallas this morning. She has already arrived in Chicago. She went with 5 others (1 other girl and 4 boys). She was the group leader responsible for keeping them all together and getting them to the station at O'Hare. I got pretty teary eyed this morning, but now I feel really good. I know she has made a great choice, and I am enormously proud of her.
How did the rest of you shipping kids today do?

My husband shipped out of Indianapolis this afternoon, and it was pretty tough. I am extremely proud of him and know he will do awesome. I haven't got the official "I'm Here" call but he did call me to let me know the plane landed and he was getting on the bus at 5pm to head to basic. I have been told it gets easier for us that are left behind, and I really hope it does.

Did okay I guess.. BUT I think it hasnt hit me yet. I traveled all the following day to my office in upstate which is a 6 hour drive from my house. kept busy with books on CD, music & now back home by myself with his car out front thinking he will walk thru the door at any moment :(
