For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Good Morning Ladies...its Thursday and hopefully that means we'll be receiving letters today. I really hope we do!! I can't believe that in 21 days we will be with our Sailors. That's such a great feeling!! Well I hope you all have a wonderful day!! Talk to you soon!

Got a letter today that was written Sunday so since I talked to him last Monday - nothing much was new but still enjoyed reading it just the same. He said he hates it when they have to stand at attention for 45 minutes. (Jeez, I'd hate that too) Said it kills his back & "you know how antsy I am".
Any news from anyone else?

Nothing new here. Waiting patiently! My back would be KILLING me if I stood at attention for 45 minutes, but them I'm old! I can understand anyone hurting. I wonder how my "antsy" SR handles it. Can't imagine him not adjusting his glasses for that long! Talk about change. Have a great weekend. : )

My husband, ex-navy, said that is good training for PIR and other ceremonials. It helps them learn not to lock their knees, which often leads to fainting. It also helps the division look professional during the ceremony. They will already know how not to fidget and remain in order. My SR is third generation Navy.

I don't know whether to share this or not as I don't know how good of an artist he is or how he got that job....My son painted the division flag. Don't know what is on it so it will be a big surprise. I hope it is good!!

How exciting! I wonder what they put on the flag. It'll be interesting to see. I've gotten the impression that they can earn different flags along the way. Does anyone understand what they are and if ours have earned them all? They got their academic flag, right fa4airtran? I seem to remember that excitement earlier. I saw a mom post on our PIR group that her son was disappointed b/c their div didn't get a flag b/c not everyone put forth good effort. I'd have to check back to see what that one was. It sounds like our DIV has really gelled and has a good spirit together. Some of the DIV in our PIR have really struggled with that from the posts.
Can't wait to see the flag. Does anyone know how they determine who carries the other flags?
It's getting exciting now and a little less stressful! : )
