Anyone have a sailor who left for boot camp on May 19, 2011?

My son left for boot camp yesterday and like everyone else here I am so proud and heartbroken at the same time.

My biggest question is when will we know about PIR/Graduation?  I know we don't hear from him again until week 3.  I already went thru the survival guide.  I'm just ready to know details.  LOL  A little OCD, I guess...

Best wishes for a smooth transition for everyone.

MidwestMom...Thank you for the timeline.  That helps alot.  I got "the Box" yesterday.  Now I am waiting on the letter.  The recruiter did give me his address.  Hopefully it is the correct one.  God Bless all our men and women.

My son left May 19th and we received his "I'm here" call about 11:30 that night. I haven't received his "kid box" yet or any info on graduation and its driving me crazy! I'm "one of those mom" and have never not talked to my kid at least every day.  To make it harder his birthday was this past Friday and needless to say a hard day for me!  I'm so proud of him but the mama in me wants to b selfish n keep him with me! I have a ton of letters ready to send but no address to send them to.  I'm new to this site but believe i will be a "creeper" (as my 16 year old daughter says) very soon! LOL.  I find it comforting to know that there are more moms out there like me...proud...sad...confused...wanting more information.

So a big HOWDY from this Texas Mom and yall are all in my prayers!

If you don't get the form letter with his address today (or didn't yesterday), call his recruiter.  You've been patient long enough.  :)  Sometimes it seems like one division will get held up and all the moms from that division are left hanging longer than necessary.  I'm still waiting on the first 'real' letter, but hopefully that will come late this week.  No mail on the holiday isn't helping our cause.  Hang in there!
