That is exactly what my son repeated 2 or 3 times - extra IT because of "shipmates who cannot keep their mouth shut".  He sounded resigned and commented that he'll be in extra good shape.

What is a SAR?

I don't mind doing it.  I was thinking the ribbons should be a light color so we can write our SR's name and Division Number on it - so either white, yellow or red?  I like white, but I'll go with whatever.

Capricorna, Great idea with the pin and ribbon.  How many SR are in our division?  How would we be able to make the ribbon (White) with their name and ship/division?  Will they be in white or blue uniforms.

I just talked with my son on the phone (27 days since he left).  I was so excited that I didn't have time to think of crying.  He talked to me for 10 min. which is a long time for him since he is usually very quiet/non-talkative type.  He hasn't received the phone card I got him from Costco.  I was so surprised that he was calling on a Tuesday, he had left a long message on my phone (I was sitting in Starbucks and didn't feel it vibrate) and then called his dad at work and finally retried to call me again.  He sounded great.  He did tell me that his A school was changed to Texas and so he like almost everyone in his division will be a grad n go and thinks they will be leaving in the evening.  I wished he knew for sure and asked him to write me when he has more info.  I bet everyone in this division got their call just recently.  I sure miss him and now I'm on cloud 9 after talking with him.

I love the idea of the ribbons. I am in for one. My personal choice would be white. But I will go with the majority.
Got my call while getting my hair cut on Tuesday. Made the hairdresser wait until we had talked out our time, tipped her well though. He, too is a little homesick but looking forward to PIR. Sounds a little different, not in a bad way. The pin/ribbon idea is great.
I love the idea!  I would love to participate. I am not familiar with the Meet & Greet.  Is this something officially organized or more of an informal group get together?  Sorry for the questions, I feel like I am so new to all of this!

The Meet & Greet is provided by the Ramada Inn Waukegan Gurnee and everyone is welcome to attend.  There is no charge.  Look at the right side of the page --------------------------------------------------------------------------->

There is a listing of events - if you don't see the Meet & Greet for PIR 07/01/2011, keep scrolling down and click on view all.  Scroll down until you find it (it IS there - I rsvp'd)

Don't worry about questions - you're doing great - and everyone will help you here.

My wife and I are sill waiting also.  She has the phone with her constantly.  My son explained the same in his letter.  There are a few that are ruining it for everyone.
My son said in his letter that he had had IT once individually for walking on the wrong side of the street, but that he had it as part of the entire group several times.  Do those causing the problem get additional individual IT in addition to the group, or are there certain infractions that are just considered group infractions?  And do you think there is any chance they would call during the week - or would it be the week-end before they call?  I have been swimming laps in the pool, and won't swim unless there is someone who can listen for my phone!
Yea!!!  Just got off the phone with or son!!!  He sounded great.  I hope others are getting theirs.
Yeah - I just got off the phone too!  He sounded great - excited about graduation.  Said for their division the next 4 weeks would be so busy it should fly by!
Ditto here!  I just got my call. Sounds good.  Homesick, and very happy to talk to Mom.
