ey

Everyone has been so quiet lately. Are you all out buying waterproof mascara for PIR?

I got two letters today. He said everyone is on the upswing emotionally because it is almost over.  They did good on their Weapons Turnover Inspections.

He said he can hardly look at breakfast anymore :( since it has been the same everyday.

Tom. is JUNE 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny that you mention that!  It's on my TO-DO List! Haahaaaa!

Good to hear an update. My letters take a looooong time to arrive.

I was going to send you a msg today and see how you were doing!  Thinking the same about us being quiet and missing you!  Glad you got letters!  Love is a wonderful thing :  )  -Yours & your SR's even benefits those of us with sons who aren't desperate to write their mamas!  So glad to have your lifeline into the DIV!
Not buying waterproof mascara, but am planning to take PLENTY of kleenex.  Maybe I need to reconsider.  Didn't need it for my daughter's wedding last year when everyone thought I'd bawl the entire ceremony, so I may be overdue!

Can you believe June 1!!!!  ????   It's been 6 weeks since I dropped my son at the recruiters.  What a difference this time has made in his life.  I'm so thankful that he's still uninjured and so proud that he's done what it takes.  One happy mama here.  Take care, ladies.  Can't wait for my letter Thursday - counting on it - and to meet all of you at graduation.  Praying all of our SRs remain uninjured through Battle Stations.

Well, my son has been an avid motorcyclist so I wouldn't be surprised if it was a sailor on a motorcycle doing a wheelie !!!LOL
LOL!

Just got a 10 minute phone call from our SR!  Seems he scored the highest of the 2 divisions on the S2(???) or Test 2 (so hard to understand on the phone) - got a perfect call score.  What a treat!  Said they had earned the Drill Flag today.  I asked what other flags they had earned - said the Star Flag - for zone inspection and something else, the Scholastic Flag - heard that from fa4airtrain, and the Athletic flag as less than 10% failed the 2nd PFA.

They're still in week 4 on day 4 or 5 (need I say he's kind of a follower). Tomorrow will prob be 5-1.  Not firefighting yet but they are soon to start, no gas chamber yet.  I guess it's late in week 5 so maybe later next week?  I remember Diannep telling us they don't count Sundays.    Anybody else confused???  The one thing we do know! -----6/17!!!

Overall, he sounded great.  Very conscious that he didn't go over his 10 minutes : ).  Sounded like he had a little Rickey crud, but must not have been sick enough for it to be making him feel too badly.

Oh, they lost another to a stress fracture in his foot today - it didn't sound like it was KC of KCsmom.  I'm so hopeful it's none of your sons, but it's someone's son and I'm so sorry  for his having to transfer out.

I need to make a list of questions I want to know from him so when he calls, I don't kick myself later.  I've thought of 3 things I'd like to have asked him since I've been typing to you guys.!

Have a great night.  Our guys are almost there and they sound like they're doing GREAT!

Bravo Zulu to your SR!  I knew that little guy was smart! When one of them does well, it makes all of them look good. Thanks for the latest info but hate to hear they lost one when they are so close. You would think with all of the knowledge out there about physical training they would train a little better so not so many of them would get these fractures.  I've been reading on some of the other divs. and so many of them have the stress fractures.

Wow that is awesome that they got some more flags!

So happy for you Cindy and yes, June 17 is all that counts now! Oh just bought a blue candle today!

I KNOW you will enjoy the rest of your night. So sleep well knowing he is OK.

I just re-read my post.....my fingers goofed when I typed "perfect call score" .  Guess I was so excited about the call I inserted that word.  Hope it didn't make you go "what is a call score???"  haha...duh!

congratulations to your son and to the whole division!  As a group they sound like they are doing well. I know my son has been worried about doing well on the academic tests and said he knew that any of them could be held back because of them....I was shocked that he was thinking of others!!!

Yay MamaCindy!  What a great surprise!

It's not just you.  I am confused as well.  I thought today was 5-1 or 5-2 (if they hadn't held for Memorial Day). They hold on Saturdays and Sundays. And they might have done the same with Memorial Day.  I'm hoping to get my letter tomorrow and find out more.

So sad to hear they lost another one today.  I'm hoping not to hear anymore news like this since we are so close to PIR.  These guys have worked so hard!

I remember hearing early on that they don't count holidays, so whether it's a Sunday or an official holiday they hold.
