OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

What is his rank and rate and how long will he be there? There are two bases in P'Cola - Corry and NAS. In order for the Navy to move you and for him to live with you, his A school has to be at least 6 months. You can move there whenever you'd like, but if his schooling isn't 6 months, they just won't pay for it. I don't know for sure, but you should still get BAH if you live in FL.
My boyfriend had his PIR 4/22 and went to P'Cola the next day (GO WITH HIM to the airport, btw). He classed up May 1st. IT doesn't take long at all. He will be there for 19 weeks, come home for a 2 week leave, then go back for his 16 week C school. Since we aren't married, it would be really costly for me to move.
Anyways, hope this helped a little! :)

He will go to NAS for aviation mechanic. He hasn't been told how long he will there yet, but I know it takes awhile to class some times. Thank you for your input it was very helpful! It's good to know that I can go down there whenever I would like. I really appreciate all of your help and advice. Thank you!

Since there are not too many posts on the main forum I would read through those. There is a lot of info there.
Also, if you are married, I would move. My wife was there from Mar - August and it was worth it in my mind to be there with her. I moved there the same month she got there and she was eventually able to move into my duplex.

Thank you for your input. As of right now, my husband will only be there for 4-6 months. We just havn't figured out yet if we should spend all that money on moving me there for such little time of him being there. I'm glad to know that you felt it was worth it. Thanks for the advice!

My husband is currently in Pensacola for A school. We are married with two kids. His recruiter told us before he went in that if his schooling is longer than 6 months, we would be able to move with him and the navy would pay for it. His schooling is anywhere between 7 to 10 months. So you would think that we would get to move with him. Well, he was just informed that the navy will NOT pay for us to move and told him that if his family is going to move to be closer to him, it is "unauthorized" and he could get in trouble. So I really don't know who to listen to or who to believe. It's very upsetting because we were told we would get to move with him and now we don't..

You can not get in trouble, that is rediculous. U can move anywhwere u want. I went thru all of this so if u have any questions message me. Just move there cuz it will be about 10 months, at least it was for us. U will hear so many different things and it will drive u nuts. Don't believe till u see it :) But they won't pay for it, that is one thing that is correct. Good luck :)

Thanks Jennifer. We are planning on moving there anyway even though they won't pay for it. I do have some questions for you, since you've been through all this and can probably answer my questions regarding this issue.
