Just got "the call".  Everything is fine, got there o.k. with her group.  Says there are about 80 there right now.  Ann, I suspect you should expect a call shortly.  Keep in touch.

Navy For Moms Survival Guide

Got the "call" last night.  She sounded great...I asked her how it was and she said "interesting" :)  Classic!  I am so proud of her and know that she will do amazing!

"Interesting."  I love that.
Hi: we got the call at 3:00 am Wed. morning.  Matt's flight was at 8:00 Boston to Great Lakes. How do you think they are doing? Not much sleep .. How are you doing??

I'm sure the kids are doing fine, Laura.  If yours is anything like mine, sleep hasn't been a priority for a while.  I think, though, by now they have had a chance to sleep, and hopefully have gotten through the first part of "what have I done?".  Kelly, on the other hand, is probably still awake from last night  She will probably go to bed in an hour or so.  The first night they let them sleep, they get to rest from 8:00 until 5:30.  Bet they don't have much trouble getting to sleep.

As for me, I'm sorting out my routine as an empty nester.  I am out of school for the summer (I teach) and am still doing my "spring cleaning" as well as packing up what Charlotte didn't.  Emotionally, I feel a little disconnected.  Not being able to pick up the phone and call when I know that Charlotte is going through a lot right now is difficult.  Guess we just have to have faith in our kids and in the Navy.

Just got a call from my ex-husband.  Charlotte sent the box to him, and he got it already.  It came Fed-Ex which is probably why she sent it to him.  We are really rural and do not have a "physical address," just a P.O. box.  He said that she sent back her cell phone.  I thought they might, though she was under the impression they would just lock it up.  Thank goodness I bought her a phone card too.

Anybody else got a box yet?

I haven't gotten the box yes....hoping it comes today to. We are kinda rural as well so it might take an extra day.

I have not received the box yet. Hoping sometime early this week. Has anyone received the form letter with their division number, etc??

Charlotte's box arrived Friday via FedEx.  Maybe today, Laura.  I asked the question about the letter on this group 'PIR 07/29/11' and Dianne gave me an explanation that I didn't want to hear.  I think Matt and Charlotte probably arrived at the very beginning of their PIR group, so we are going to be awhile waiting for letters.  I have read in other groups that you can sometimes get their ship/division from their recruiter before you get the letter.  It isn't 100% reliable, but it might let you get a letter to Matt earlier.

Recruiter tells me Charlotte is ship 11/division 237.

I left a message for the recruiter...to try and figure out Richie's ship and division. Hopefully he gets back to me soon. I got my box today....I was super happy!
