Here is a calendar to keep track of when our loved ones leave for BC June 2011. Stole the idea from the Leaving in March group! I tried to go back through the site to get dates from those posted. Help me keep it updated! :)

Theraysmom - Welcome! You are now on the calendar. I've been absent for a bit and have missed a LOT! Our oldest son returned to the state on Friday after working in New Orleans for 4 months. Good to have one returning.
As for swearing in - we were told to be there around 9:30, but were antsy and probably got there a little after 8. He swore in sometime around 9:30. Jeans are fine. Some of the recruits were wearing air force items so we knew they were going into the air force. Once our son got to Chicago, he had several hours to wander the airport so maybe that's why they don't want them wearing clothing that identifies them as Navy. Don't know...just guessing. Funny that ElleBee's air force BIL was told not to wear that, because those were the only recruits I was able to identify. During the time they are wandering, they can call and text to their heart's content so make sure they charge their cell phones the night before they swear in.
I just popped by to see what was going on with everyone. Welcome to the new moms, jma1216 and theraysmom. This site is such a blessing!
We had my son's party yesterday. It was great. I bought Navy t-shirts and had his last name put on his shirt and then on the backs of ours I had Team "His last name" on the back. I was worried that he would think they were silly but he told me last night "Thanks for the t-shirts mom, they're the bomb. I'm gonna wear mine everyday until I leave." It made my heart swell just a bit. I never know how he will react anymore.
He was doing the sarcastic reponse, fighting with his brother, telling me no thing too. His step-dad took him to town one morning and told him he was upsetting me and making me cry. I was also worried that he would leave on a bad note and not want to write home to me. :( Now his attitude is different. He hugs me and kisses the top of my head and tells me he loves me. I think he is starting to realize he's really leaving. Now as far as fighting with his brother, well, that's probably not going to end! They'll probably fight by letter! LOL!
Anyway, reading some of the posts about swearing in are making me feel alittle panicky. I just can't wrap my mind around what you guys are going through. Or what I will do when I'm standing there! I think I'll be okay until we leave him...then I'm afraid I'll have a total meltdown. There goes the panic again. I'm just not going to think about it until I have to!
Thanks for listening to me ramble on. I will be praying for you guys that have loved ones leaving this week. May God bless every wonderful second they are with you and may He give you peace.
