Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

real life experience with balls.  Now, stop that!  I'm talking about CAKE BALLS.

Inspired by all of these cake balls! Although right now I'm working with a tiny kitchen with limited supplies....so unfortunately I let my intimidation with cake balls get the best of me and opted for plain 'ol cupcakes this morning! Still yummy....but when I move in August I will definitely be trying cake balls!

That would be awesome to make "cheesecake" balls, yum!!! I have heard they are awesome, though haven't tried to do them yet. I will be attempting the brownie pops soon, we love brownies in our house!

How did the wedding go? Can't wait to hear all about it!

I've made the oreo balls quite a few times & they always go over good.  I found a recipe for red velvet cake balls that also sounds yummy.

I made Red Vevet with cream cheese frosting and German Chocolate with the frosting. I will have to say, German Chocolate gets my vote!! They are delish!! I don't see all the excitement for Red Velvet, but I make what the customer wants. I do have to taste them all so I know what they taste like. I have another order for chocolate for Saturday, a friends son's birthday. So, I will have half of Red Velvet, half of German Chocolate and then half of a chocolate cake left over..........................I think I am going to freeze them for the next orders. I can't be eating all this cake, the jeans are getting a bit snug already!

Ohh look what I just found! I was perusing Pioneer Woman's dessert recipes..... and found step by step pictures for making cake balls! I figured they were pretty simple, but she makes it seem like a breeze, and something all of you wonderful ladies can do, too! Here you go, enjoy -

So funny--today's Detroit Free Press had an article on Cake Balls.  Well, they called them Cake Pops, since they're on a stick.  It looks like the article is syndicated, so it might be in several other newspapers, not just this one.  Definitely a hot trend.

Well, this house is waaaayyyy too hot to do anymore. I did over 200 "Ribbon" sugar cookies for our local "Relay for Life" walk this weekend. I will be doing royal icing on them tomorrow and they will have two days to dry. We will be handing them out to the "Survivors" during their trek around the fairgrounds. It was about 86 in here by the time I was done. We have no A/C and I used two fans to keep as cool as I could. It is supposed to change tonight with rain and a cold front coming across. I sure hope so, I want to be able to do "Cake Pops" for the graduation parties we have this weekend as well. We have two Friday night, and along with the walk, we have two on Saturday afternoon. We will be going briefly to all of them.
