Great.  Glad to hear that they are getting better and that you sort of "got a letter" even if it was through your DIL.  Our SR sends one letter to me and I scan it and send it to his dad, brother, sister and grandparents.  That way he doesn't feel so stressed about writing everyone.  He writes the group letter and one to his girlfriend.
What a great idea!   I bet that is why you are hearing from him more.  That way he doesn't feel like he has to split his time writing to each person.  I'm going to suggest that to my son but it might be too late in the game, if you know what I mean. :)

Thanks for the updates - love hearing them.  I am planning on staying thru Monday.  We're coming from so far that I wanted to be sure that just in case he was available for the long weekend, we would be too.

My oldest son's letters from boot repeatedly stated they were the worst division ever.  Hard to say if 813 is really struggling or if they say that to make them work harder.  They haven't earned a call home though...

My son has been sick as well, just sounds like a lingering cold?  Not bad, but he said others are worse.  I just found out he had a wisdom tooth pulled!  Where was that letter?!  Must've been stuck in a mail slot somewhere, lol.

At least they received the PT flag...kind of makes sense that the 800 div would receive it, considering where they're headed
Hey everyone...sorry been out of the loop on vacation in WA!!  No letters still and we are planning on staying thru Monday, leaving that morning.  We are about 10 hrs away so not too bad.  They push these guys more then any of them out there....so it could be that they are the best but can't tell them that!!  Not sure but just a thought...LOL
I agree. Those RDC's know where these guys are headed and I'm sure they are pushing them above and beyond! I think they want to prepare them as best they can for specops training. There is NO slacking in SEAL, SWCC, DIVER!!

I was just SURE I would have another letter today, since there hasn't been for a few days, but nope!  Sixteen days!  Six.  Teen.  Days!  It's really almost here :)

When my son was there his 800 div got every flag and pennant they could earn and they still didn't get any extra calls til they won the Captains Cup. They don't reward these guys much cuz they are trying to push them hard and toughen them up. just keep those positive letters flowing and they'll b great. One thing I learned is my son always wants to do better then he is doing, so they may not b doing badly, but tothe guys in this div., good isn't good enough.

Hang in there!

Thank u so much for posting this! Makes me feel bettervto have my thoughts confirmed by someone who has already been down this road! It gives me a little peace of mind knowing there is a reason thatvwe haven't heard from our SR's as much as those who are not in specops. Thanks again!
My son is 813   ship 3. He, too is headed for SWCC. I'm so proud of him. Isn't this all amazing? I read other moms' comments and can't help getting very emotional! I can't wait to see him and I know those few days (if we get 3!) will be very precious. We finally made our travel plans and I feel better about that. We are getting close!  : )
Welcome!  We'll see you soon.  Our sons will be working and training together for a long time.

The letters are sure slowing down.  At least this first leg of their journey is almost over!  Once they're out of BC, at least they can call home.  Sure looking forward to meeting the families too.

Does anyone know how we'll decide where in the bleachers to sit?  I've heard there are like 11 divisions graduating.  I'm sure the families of each will want to sit in the vicinity of their division.

Is anyone that is flying renting a car?  Still on the fence over whether to do that or try to take cabs.

Normally when you get to PIR they have signs up showing where your son's div will stand so you can sit right in front of them. I imagine they will have something similar for ya'll even with the change in location. If u kno ur son is a stick(carrying a flag) he will be up front so you can sit down low. if not u may want to sit up a little higher in case he is more towards the back. Those of us that met on here all decided to wear the same color scarf to id each other. Some other div wore ribbons. Just a fun way to pick each other out in the crowd at the meet n greet and Pir. : )
