Okay ladies, I'm using this as a starting point. My SR is over half way done with bootcamp...and in all my day dreaming, I'm thinking about the future. So, he is going to A-school in San Antonio...how do I find out more information about A-School and what happens after that....you know...in case I'd ever like to plan a wedding or something! :)

JOP? oh i just want to be on his orders :(
justice of peace
whats that?
a judge
oh so like a court? i dont want to do that dang this sucks i dont know wht to do
You can get on his orders later and be able to live with him. The ONLY difference is the Navy will pay for it and he has a lesser chance of getting orders overseas if he is listed as married. I know that is really important.. it is with me too. But, for you, I think a small ceremony is your best bet.
small ceremony like what u mean? sorry
If you are really set on a big wedding where you guys are from, then your best bet is to just wait until he is done with A School and gets leave to come home before his Duty Station. You won't be on his orders right away but I believe he can update them to get you on. It might take a little while, but that way you would get your big wedding.
yeah how long is that so i can plan, when would that be?

Thats another problem, there is no way to really know when it will be. Even if you know his A school is only 6 weeks for example, he still my be on hold after he graduates school for an unknown amount of time. I knew two guys who graduated a week apart, one got his orders right away and a week after he graduated he was able to go home on leave and then go straight to his duty station. The other guy graduated and was on hold for a month before he got his orders and was able to come home.

Thats the thing with the Navy, they don't like to tell you a lot of stuff ahead of time, and when they do its not always set in stone! They can change things whenever they want!

dang this sucks

Yeah, it sucks. =[ I'm the type of person that likes to plan everything out wayyy in advance, and always have a plan so this military life where I never know anything and can't make plans is taking some getting used to! It will get easier though. Once they are done with school and at their duty station everything should be a little easier.

When does he graduate bootcamp?
