OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thanks for starting this.

Has anyone made hotel reservations yet?

I haven't made flight, hotel or car reservations yet but plan to in the next week or so.

I have made three and must cancel 2 soon!  Navy Lodge is the least expensive, but I doubt I will stay there since it has no hot tub. We will have a rental car and we will probably stay through Saturday. Ramada (as well as a few others) offer a shuttle to RDC both ways, but we may stay at La Quinta (we get points there).
Just made my flight, hotel and car reservations. Now just need to get some cute outfits for my Sailor to see me in. I hope time just flies by.
Is anyone flying into Milwaukee instead of Chicago?
I got my first letters yesterday!!!!!!! :)
Me too. One from 6/1 and another from 6/10 in same envelope.
I got my first letters yesterday too! One for everyday haha. Sounds like it started out rough but everyone is coming together. Can't wait to hear from him again :)

I received letters today too.  It sounds like we might get a call on Saturday.

It sounds like they all have nicknames at boot camp.

I heard some of the names are not pleasant!!  lol
Yes as long as everyone did well we will get a phone call saturday. I am hoping everyone passed, so i will be glued to my phone on saturday :)
Has anyone gotten their phone call, yet?
