I didn't hear from my SR any word on her A school orders. She'll be going to corpsman training. Her recruiter told her she'd go to GL (even though a few weeks before she left, he told her it might be San Antonio). I'm hearing thru N4M, that they're sending all corpsman to SA now. Either way- does anyone know how long we'll have with our SRs after PIR?

Besides that, I thought a discussion group of us with corpsman can share any info we get on that anyway. Come join in!

Oh my gosh Jenni, somehow I missed the picture the last time I logged on here.  It is so precious!  Thank you for sharing it.  I showed it to my daughter as well.  She was excited when I told her it was the daddy and little boy that saluted at the airport.  :)

Hooray....our discussion lives!!!!!

I did text my son tonight and ask which class he was in he said 175 for now.  I guess that could change while they wait.  Weird that they don't just put them in a class all together and then start another one when it is full.  Guess they have their own system.

Teach, YOU ROCK!  I think it is quite a dance we all do sometimes we are up and sometimes we are down, but we never are all up or down at the same time, and the downs never stay!  :)

Just getting caught up on the discussion. I finished my term yesterday and then ended up with a migraine. You would think that it would be a relief not a stress to be done, maybe my body just reacts backwards. lol.

My son is also in class 175 and I'm with you on the combining classes. Ty said that there are some Air Force people in his class as well. They have been asking a lot of questions about assignments they can get, he seems pretty positive, but ready to start class. He asked me to send some of his stuff and some home made cookies. My daughter and I got it all sent on Tuesday, so hopefully he will get it today, cause he said they can only check their mail Tues & Thurs & I know he wants it before the weekend.

Glad we are keeping this discussion going you have all been so fun to get to know. I better get going, my husbands work is having their annual picnic today & he wants us to hurry up and get there. lol

Have a great day ladies.

G, I think that our bodies have to go through a let down after a big stress is over.  I know I usually end up with some kind of sickness or just exhaustion at the end of every school year.  I think we hold it together and sprint to the finish and then collapse.  I just want to sleep for about a week.  :)

Thanks for all the info.  My son sent me a text saying that he will get libery this weekend and will call then.  I hope to get some information from him then.  It was funny when we were in GL though.  I would ask him a question and he would then ask another sailor.  :)  He is very sharp, but a little ADHD like his mama!  :)

Have a great day!

He got his box yesterday:) He was so excited, but I haven't heard anything about the cookies (which I assume are all gone).

Girlsyk~ I know what your saying about our bodies and after last weekend mine was ready to shut down. I actually was able to sleep in good this morning as my husband didn't have to go into work. Last year I got really sick and was sick half the summer, glad that is not the case this year;)

I am going to get to work on my poor neglected house, finally get some sewing & scrapbooking done, read some books and enjoy my summer. We will even through in a trip to see Ty in SA.

Hope you all are doing well and are getting rested.

Happy friday everyone. My family has gone to visit the inlaws and I am home alone for the weekend. I am so excited to get the house cleaned up and relax in the quiet of my house.

My daughter call and told me she is now in class 180. Anyone elses sailor get bumped to a new class? She is so depressed about it. I told her it would be okay, God has a plan for her. She doesn't know if they will start at the same time or what. Her roommate is still in 175 and that made her even more upset. I told her in the Navy you have to have a wait and see attitude. It is all about hurry up and wait.

Papercrafter- My daughter is in 180- unless something has changed there too- and so is Gnomes husband.She will be in good company. Tell her to go and meet my daughter. She is shy, so I think she appears stand offish at times, just let her know it's timidness... PM me and I'll let you know her name.

My dot was made admin and was very upset. She is afraid she won't be able to keep up with classwork and the job. As you said, it's the Navy and they have to do what they have to do.....

I have a hard time accepting that myself, so I can only imagine what it's like for a young person. I'll pray for her. But tell her to introduce herself

teach, I know it's a lot of responsibility, but she will excel at it...and she has plenty of friends and support there as well! Once she gets into a routine it will be less overwhelming for her. She can always go to my husband if she needs anything-I hope she knows that! She is doing well though. :)

It seems like there is some confusion over the grad dates...I thought 175 and 180 had the same grad date but maybe they don't? I asked my husband to find out.

papercrafter, you said exactly what she needed to hear...even if it's not what she wanted to hear! :) It's nice to see your positive attitude shine through. Everything happens for a reason, right?

Oh, I know Gnomes. I keep telling her being given extra responsibilities is a good thing. It helps her in the long run.Although, I too worry what will happen once school starts, but God will take care of her. He put her in that position for a reason.  I'm sure they've already pegged your hubbie to help tutor everyone when school starts (wink) I still want to hear about the conversation our sailors had. I haven't had a chance to ask mine yet. We've only texted the last few days, and you know what a snail I am at that. wink

Papercrafter- I PMd you my dot's name. Tell her to find her!

He said it was brief, but that she is doing well. He also said that she knows that we talk...uh oh!! ;) Now that I'm phoneless for a few days, I can't interrogate him about C. :) Well, there's always email...gwahahahaha!

papercrafter-It's not only hard to be positive sometimes, it's impossible to be positive all the time. And that's ok...as long as you provide the support your Sailor needs and find your inner strength. I've grown a lot just in the past couple of months from this experience...not always change I was welcome to, but God has a plan, and we learn every day how to improve upon the life we live! We are so blessed to have wonderful Sailors in the best Navy in the WORLD! :)

Thanks gnomes, I needed to hear that. It is hard to be positive sometimes. Yes, everything does happen for a reason even if we don't know the reason at that time.

I am sure we will find out soon when the graduation dates will be.

Thanks, Teach I will give her the info. I also pmd you my dot name.

Gnomes~ You are going to be an AWESOME Navy wife. You already understand that the Navy is constantly changing. There is never anything set in stone. I remember back to probably the most frustrating time when our daughter was born & my husband was suppose to get leave, but the ship had inspections so they cut his leave and he ended up working til 2am. It is something you definitely have to get use to and be supportive.

Papercrafter~ I thought of this today reading through your worries. I understand the frustration, but I have also been there, so I also understand that the Navy is never going to make it easy. Deployments get extended, schools get pushed back, life changes drastically. You are doing great being supportive and as positive as you can. She will do great. My son is still in 175, but told me yesteday that they have now moved their start date back another week. I keep laughing to myself that if they keep moving it back maybe it will bump back far enough that he will be home for Christmas, but I know that isn't likely. He is frustrated too. Plus someone in his class was late for his duty and got the whole class restricted to base. But he found some positive in it.....He won't spend as much money and there are still a lot of things to do on base. He likes to swim, so is going to find the pool today.

The Serenity Prayer
Path

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

We are all in this together and that's what this is page is for SUPPORT! It will get better. Hope you all have  a great day!!!

Awww, thank you, love!! :) Saying things and doing it are different, but I'm learning and growing and supporting my husband. That's my job as his wife! Even in the civilian world things are constantly changing, but the military requires more patience than usual. I think this experience is a great learning experience. When we pray to God for patience, or courage, or strength, he doesn't give us those attributes, but gives us the opportunity to SHOW our patience and courage and strength.

I love the serenity prayer!! :) Thanks for posting that.
