HI. That is odd, because the last response from annev did not have a reply after for me to reply. not the first time i've seen this happen.
No problem on the room. I'm going to cancel tonight to free up for anyone else.
Yes, I'll be at PIR 7/1. I had another room on hold to for just double beds. It's just my sister and i sharing a room now, so we don't need the 2 bdrm.
My last letter was several days ago. My SR has not been dating letters so I'm guessing at the timing. He got his orders. Monterey for 1 year of school then he'll be stationed just a few hours from home! I will get to see him more often. He has not provided much info about what is going on, very short letters, but letters none the less. I don't know anything about his bunkmate or others in his division, I was hoping they'd form at least a few lasting bonds. They are all tired of "bootcamp" and counting down the days. I am trying to get out of work early Monday for "the Call."
I have not been posting much here, but have been watching and have been comforted by all your correspondence. Thanks so much to all of you for helping me through this tough time......Can't wait to actually me you all next week.
That's great that your son will eventually be near you! A whole year in school - holy smokes! What is his rate?
I'm looking forward to meeting you all too. Are you really a wild mom? :->
Used to be until I shattered my leg a few months ago, now I'm wild in a wheelchair. I'll be caning it for the meet and greet but chairing it for PIR. Can't walk that far yet...
The original plan was 2 years of school but it's the Navy and their choice/need. Rate?.. CTI...Not up on this Navy lingo...I'll get there
Got a letter today! Yay! He apologized for not writing because he had so many people to write to! He is thrilled that his job at PIR will not be performed and he will likely be a body snatcher or rail guard so he will be able to see and participate in PIR. He said he bought pix, dvd and yearbook as well as hoodie and division shirts. He can't believe it's almost over. Sounds happy.
Capricorna- That is great. I can't wait to see all of them. I do plan on hitting the NEX after graduation to buy some Navy stuff. Mine indicated he bought package A, and some other stuff, but did not elaborate.
Anyway, we'll be there this time next week. I'm dropping last letter today. I'm sure we'll all be out here (N4M) early next week conversing over our final call we will be receiving, hopefully Monday afternoon. Have a Great Weekend, get your stuff packed!!!
Annev - thanks so much for the heads up. I will take son to NEX off base and get him one there - IF he wants it. He needs to decide. Thank you!
Yes, he was going to be "in the back with dignitaries" but now he will be outside - yay! He was bummed about not seeing his own PIR. He wrote that he ordered Division t shirts and a hoodie. I think if they aren't well bonded by now, they will be after Captain's Cup. That usually puts the icing on the cake for them - done on purpose right before Battle Stations :-> He said he was on the Head Crew and they were an awesome bunch of people. Ha - my son who never cleaned in his life... I love it! Thank You Navy!
