This is a group set up by moms who want to help Sailors who do not recieve mail for whatever reasons. We all know how important it is for our SR's to recieve mail from home while they are so far away from home and their loved ones. If all it takes is one letter to brighten a boys day when his name is called at mail time. I know my son felt bad for those guys and I wished I had a way to help. well now I can and so can you by either joining our group and/or providing names (we have the addresses) privately of course and no one will know who this information came from. Please private message me if you can get names from your SR through letters or phone calls so that we may start writing. Thank you in advance for your help.

This is a wonderful idea!  It truly is painful to imagine what a lonely feeling it must be for SRs who don't receive mail.  My son has just finished his first week at bc so it will be a while before we are able to communicate with each other and for him to know who doesn't get mail.  I just now added a note about this in the letter I wrote to my son today, but I can't mail it yet because I haven't received his address.  At least when he does receive the letter he will know to start trying to take notice of who gets passed over at mail time and then provide names when he can.  Thank you for taking the initiative to make it possible to share compassion with those who need it the most.

I agree this is a wonderful idea.  My son shipped out Tuesday.  We went to MEPS to see him being sworn in and to see him off on the bus.  It wasn't until after lunch, we realized there were kids there whose family couldn't make it.  I wish I had known ahead of time so I could have taken their pictures and shared it with their family for them.  I made sure I said Good Bye and Good Luck to all of them as they boarded the bus and to let them know we are all family now and very proud of them.  As soon as I hear from my son, I will get names and pass the information on to you in a private message. :0))

PIR was like that. alot of Sailors wandering around without family. I can see how it might not be affordable for everyone. airfare, hotel and meals really added up in a short time. I think about it now, but it probally wouldnt of been a bad idea to give a few of these guys a hug and offer to take a picture and send it for them. Even the portraits were a bit expensive.

Thank you ladies
How do I find out which SR to write to?
I'll ask my SR too if there are names in his DIV who arnt getting mail. Would love to write to them!
thanks ladies we need names.
I would love to send mail to an "adopted" SR!!!!
I am awaiting my first letter from my SR. When I reply, I will ask him. I have written many letters, I am just waiting for a response to make sure he gets them. Actually, this will be the focus of my letter somewhat. Thanks Ladies.
If we receive the letter with the graduation information, isn't that the mailing address on the return side of the envelope?  I am confused.  Have I been sending letters to no where or to the wrong place?
The form letter you got where your SR wrote the return address on the envelope is the return address. I also believe I remember that address in the letter as well.
The addresses for all the divisions is in the discussion part of this actual group.
