Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I don't know who his recruiter is, My son was living in AZ and I'm in California...and his Dad hasn't returned any of my calls, I'm not sure where his "box" is actually going CA or AZ...so I guess I will wait patiently...he'll be in touch...

The recruiter can ONLY give you info if your son said he could otherwise it is againts privacy act

Unfortunately, I don't even know who his recruiter is (was)...and don't know what permissions my son gave..I'll be patient! =)

You should be able to call the Navy recruiter in the town he left from.

Call his recruiter!!! If you don't have his name, call that office. That's what they are there for. They gave me my sons address. That is horrible, I feel really bad for you. He should have made one call when he arrived. Do you talk to his dad? When you get his address you can send him stamps. This website was a god send to me because we all know how hard it is. Good luck!

I don't know which office he went to..he was living in Tuscon...maybe I'll just call them all (if there is more than one..don't know) I thought his dad & I were getting along and communicating..but, I guess not.. Last time I spoke to him last week, I asked he make to have Dillon call before he left..no call..I guess I'll just cross my fingers and hopw for the letter/box...Thanks for the support!

Kimberly, just want you to know that we have an active an supportive group in the San Francisco Bay area. Nine of us got together for dinner last night in Belmont. If you can get any info from his dad, can you get a mutual friend or family member to call him and ask for the info? How about the grandparents. I hope you son calls you. Hopefully he will instruct his father to share all info with you. Good luck.

Kimberley - Don't panic if you don't get a letter until July 14. He should send a form letter out in 7-14 days, but if that goes to his dad, he probably won't be writing any 'real letters' until Sunday, July 10. They usually are not allowed to write until their second Sunday of BC. I just don't want you upset if it takes a couple weeks to get a letter from him. Start pestering your ex late next week and see if he receives the form letter and can scan and send it to you or fax it to you. You'll need info on it later if you are going to PIR, plus you'll want to read the info. Good luck!!

Thank you MWM, I will be patient and hope he sends the letter to me not his Dad...otherwise I will put on my big girl panties and pesticate him for the letter!! LOL
Good to know I will need that letter for PIR as my daughter & I are planning on attending...
