For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

YEA!! So happy you started this...there haven't been many on this site yet for our ship and div! I can fill you ladies in more from what my daughter said...just not on here :) I will friend you both and share what I know...she also told me they earned the flag! What jobs do your SR's have?

I have not heard from my son :-(. I am getting worried. I have received 2 letters from him however. This is great that they have earned a flag. I am so looking forward to hearing from him. My son will be a hospital corpsman.

I got a call last week and two letters last week and then 2 letters again Wednesday. my daughter said they got the flag and that there is some hard tests coming up. She is one of the Yeomens and hates every minute of it. she does all the paper work for the division. I'd say over worked and under paid lol

I received two letters yesterday from my SR. He sounded well. Says they are coming up on Hell Week. Hope everyone's SR is doing well. Can't wait until the 29th!

I got a letter from my son today!! Seemed like forever since his last letter. Seems like flags and ribbons are the goals for our SR's. It was the topic for 13 of his letter. Has anyone else noticed this in their letters? It must be very important to them. As most of you know 238 has already earned a flag for academic and apparently can earn up to 5 total. In my son's letter they hadn't found out yet if they qualified for the PFA flag yet. Please post on our 11/238 discussion group whenever anyone hears if our SR's earn any flags. Go 238!!!

Hi 238 moms! I got a letter yesterday! My son got married on May 20 and left for great lakes on May 28. I haven't gotten a call, but my daughter in law has! He says its hard, he's trying hard, and so far has passed everything. He sounds happy, but misses his wife, they have been sweethearts for 8 years since they were freshmen! How are plans for going to graduation? I'm in southern california.

randysue, I have my reservations at the Navy Lodge. I will be driving in from Michigan on Thursday late evening.
Congratulations to your son and his new bride! How exciting for them both. I bet she can't wait until she can join him wherever he is stationed!
Our SR's are doing great. I just got off the phone from my son and he informed me that division 238 has now earned 3 flags (1 for academic, 1 for inspections and one for PFA) and is working on the 4th, hopefully, theStar flag. They also earned a pennant, but I can't remember what it is for.

Got a call from my SR Friday night about 8:30pm. I was surprised to get one that late in the day. She had an hour to talk as they did well on their inspection. We divided the call between us and her boyfriend. (I thought it was an inspection of their living quarters or such but she said it was them practicing for graduation!) Said she wasn't 100% positive but thought she was a grad n go. Said she would have one more phone call after the 3rd test and Battlestations....THE call! Said they were in Hell Week and had the 2nd of 3 tests yesterday and would feel much better when that was behind her.
In the next few weeks, they have pictures, gun fire, gas chamber, firefighting as well as Captains Cup and Battlestations! She sounded good...like your son Josh'smom..she is sick but said they all are...once they get it, they all seem to just hold on to it. She sounded proud, tired, and anxious to be done and get "SWEET FREEDOM" LOL!
If any of you can get on Facebook...try and answer the Trivia Question...I am at work and can't get on :(
