For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Sunshine! So glad you started this to keep in touch with everyone. My Sailor made it to SC yesterday evening and I see on facebook she was heading for the mall today! That money is burning a hole in her pocket already...some things never change...lol Is there a way to be member of this discussion so that it will go on our page or do I need to keep going on the Nuke Moms group 1st?

TL3MOM -- Welcome! My sailor made it to Goose Creek yesterday. He called to say he arrived safely, was briefed and was going to explore base with some of his buddies (I don't know who they are yet). He thought they would explore off base tomorrow. Was told by some more experienced NUKES to enjoy this time; it is the most relaxing time they will get. I was having phone trouble. The cell tower near my house must not have been working and the next closest tower isn't close enough. He said he would call back later, but I didn't hear from him again. I'm sure he's just enjoying himself. He didn't have a roommate yet.
You should be able to follow this discussion like the groups. Under the posting box you should see "Follow - Email me when people reply." Click on that and you should be good to go!
Do you know if there were other female NUKES in our PIR? I know they are few and far between.

Hi ladies! My sailor was probably the last one to arrive in SC last night, he called at 12:45am when the plane landed and he still had to figure out how to get to base. Poor thing was soooo tired.
There's a Nuke moms group that I've joined. One of the discussions is their schedule on arrival and has a lot of good information about what they'll be doing for the next weels/months.
Mine is ET, what rate did yours pick?

Moliana, can you post the link to that discussion. I looked at one, but it just seemed to have the same information I had received from my son. Maybe it's not the same one. I would like to know more about what he will be doing, especially when they first get there. Do you know when you're planning to visit?

Thanks for posting. I'd seen the first two pages before, but not the summary following. Thanks for posting; every little bit of information helps.
I'm hearing Nuke school basically shuts down over the Christmas holiday and everyone gets like 10 days. I don't know if that's true or not.
I also heard the last group of Nukes were in INDOC for a long time like 3 weeks or a month; they just started their classes this past week.
Good luck on planning your trip. I'm guessing I won't have the opportunity to travel to SC.

Hello ladies. Mine arived yesterday as well. Got his room but hasn't met his roommate yet. He and his buddies were going out and explore yesterday but I don't know about today. Said he would play it by ear. He is going to school to be an MM.

Glad all the new sailors are getting to relax and explore a bit. I too heard that Nuke's are very busy and it is long hard hours...they need to enjoy every minute or opportunity they get to relax.

I am being told that they do have 10 days during Christmas...mine plans on coming home...YAY! I was already looking at prices of flights to go visit in late Septemeber/early October...that is about the 1/2 way point.
I agree on receiving information...the more you all post the better. Doesn't matter if it is repetitive...some may not have seen it before. I feel clueless and lost right now. I now my daughter and she won't be staying in contact too much. She will be busy with all the training and long hours that she will be too tired to talk to her momma. But I'm sure she will be facebooking and I at least get to see somewhat of her activities. Well...nothing that pertains to her schooling though :(
