Here is a calendar to keep track of when our loved ones leave for BC June 2011. Stole the idea from the Leaving in March group! I tried to go back through the site to get dates from those posted. Help me keep it updated! :)

Good luck to your SR, soon to be Sailor. I will be thinking of him tonight and burning my blue candle. I'm sure it's very hard to deal with so many strangers for so long in such close quarters. I'm sure he'll be fine. Keep us informed.
Have a wonderful trip.
mbb3119-we will be at Navy Lodge, too!
Have a safe trip Midwestmom, and congrats.
MidwestMom...I'm so happy for you and your son! I will say a special prayer for him and his Div tonight. And one for safe travel for your family!
I know he'll be tired but I'm sure he is ready to see you too! All of the frustrations will melt right off when he sees you at PIR! He'll probably catch a second wind and talk your ears off!
Be safe and have a wonderful trip!
And thanks for all the help you've given all of us! You are awesome!
Changed my name to shorten it up and my SR's in Ship 10/Div 267
Thanks everyone! I've updated the calendar, but my boxes require names to be shortened to add ship/div numbers so sorry for chopping your names!
PIR was wonderful. Since my Sailor didn't do BS until Wednesday night, we were in Chicago when we got the call on Thurs -- at 4:30! I couldn't believe they called that late! He was still pretty tired on Friday so after PIR, we went back to the hotel and he ate, talked, slept. The Navy Lodge was very nice. We had 10 people so we had 2 rooms and it worked really well. By the way, if you use a Garmin, type in 2701 Meridian, not the hotel's address (2500 Meridian) which will take you too far to the south, lol. Apparently, that is a common problem for the area...ran into same problem trying to find some restaurants. Anyway...he wanted to be back by 6 (told to be back at 7) so we shopped a bit at the NEX and walked as far as the chapel. Next day he was shipped to the airport at 4:30 a.m. and his flight didn't leave till 6 so we spent part of the day there...but I'm pretty sure he was relieved when we left since the grandkids were missing naps. His RDC allowed him to take his cell phone back to base on Friday night 'as long as he didn't see them'. It was sooo nice getting texts and calls! We took black backpack and black tote to airport, but warn them they may be taken away at A-school. He was only allowed to keep his ipod and cell phone...civies & computer have to be earned after Phase 1.
PIR Recommendations - If your sailor isn't short, move to the balcony. Mine was in the last row, but we stayed down at the floor level...yeah, saw him walk by and that was it until it was over. On the flip side...we were down on the floor quickly when liberty was called. :) Buckley has 3 lanes, but you lose the far right lane so stay in the middle lane when driving from the west. Ohio is the street you want...the gate at Illinois is closed. Ask your sailor when you see them if they've received their pictures. If they have, then you don't have to stand in line..some did, some didn't.
Meet&Greet - ATTEND! It was awesome! My hubby, who thinks I've got an addition to this site, was really blown away at the families there.
Friday flies by far too fast. Let your sailor decide what they do and don't want to do. Keep it relaxed. We spent part of it walking outside...he said it was the first time he touched grass in weeks. Mine wanted to be back on base an hour early so we shopped at the NEX with him--lots of nice Navy Mom/Dad T-shirts for $10-13, stickers, mugs, etc.
