I didn't hear from my SR any word on her A school orders. She'll be going to corpsman training. Her recruiter told her she'd go to GL (even though a few weeks before she left, he told her it might be San Antonio). I'm hearing thru N4M, that they're sending all corpsman to SA now. Either way- does anyone know how long we'll have with our SRs after PIR?

Besides that, I thought a discussion group of us with corpsman can share any info we get on that anyway. Come join in!

Welcome back, Girls!! I missed hearing your words of wisdom...

Thanks everyone.  It's good to be back.  My bed was so nice, until the cat started meowing outside my window at 6.  Ha ha!

Now I am looking around at my terribly neglected home and laundry and wondering where to begin.

I am so bummed that SA is so far away.  Last week, the one day I had at home before going to camp both of my vehicles broke down.  Going to cost about 1200 to get them both fixed.  There is no way I can afford that and a trip to San Antonio.  :(  Good thing it didn't happen before PIR or I would have questioned whether I should go or not.  I'm so glad that I was able to do that trip without worries!

I texted Padyn (is it okay to use names now?) whether he was still 175 or if he had been changed to 180 and whether he was alpha or bravo (was quite proud of myself for using correct terms) and was totally confused by his answer.  Ha ha!  This is what he said, "I am still 175 they made alpha bravo and made bravo 180 alpha."  Huh?  LOL  He is going to call tonight when he gets off so he can explain.  :)

Ha ha teach on the words of wisdom,  At the moment the only ones I have are ENDURE and BREATHE!  Ha ha!  :)

Girlsyk~ sorry to hear about your cars. Doesn't it just work that way, Murphy's Law, if it can go wrong it will. Good luck to you and I hope all works out.

Talked to Ty today, he was studying, they have a test tomorrow. He is excited to get started. He has also decided to try out with the the Spec Ops guys, so that he can open some extra doors. He sounded great.

Hope everyone's sailors are doing good.

G Mom- When did your son start class? Well, it's great to hear someone is actually doing something! What does that mean he's going ot try out with the special op guys?
Teach, he started class today, but they had reading to do last night. There is 50 in his class and 31 of them Aced their first test. Ty was very interested in Special Operations and when he found out that they could take the test for Spec Ops(swim, pushups, pullups, situps, run) and if they pass it he can work out with them, and then when it comes time for selecting orders he will have the option of being a Corpsman for a Spec Ops team (Explosive Ordinance Disposal EOD, Special Amphibious Recon, Dive Team, and maybe Search & Rescue)  It is just something extra that they can do and he is really interested in it, plus wants the extra work outs. His first choice when he joined the Navy was EOD, but they never got an opening for him to get in, so he stayed with Corpsman, so when he found out he could still be with that kind of team, he was pretty excited. He said that they start EMT training tomorrow.
Well, it's good to hear that some of our PIR group at classing up. I feel sorry for my daughter. She is just hating her new group. They really don't work together and aren't motivated like 180 did. So unfortunate

Teach~ I know it's been frustrating. Ty was getting upset at some of his classmates also for not following the rules.

If you all talk to your sailors make sure they know there is a good bus system in SA. I got tired of Ty spending $25 every time they used a taxi. Him and his room mate went to Sea World yesterday for $2.85, he said it took longer, but was well worth the money saved.

Hope you all have a wonderful INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

Teach, When did she get moved and to what div is she in now?

My Sailor said they had a test today and would hopefully start classed tomorrow. I hope they do, this is so frustrating for them.

You know, I think it's 185, but not positive.. She said they take the test that tells them their learning style tomorrow and then classes on Wednesday.Geez..... four weeks later....
GMom- How is class going for Ty?? Any words of wisdom for the rest of us??
Teach~ Ty is doing well in class, he is excited and is getting A's on his tests. I would say just keep positive. He has learned that its all up to him, no one is going to push him and make him study. It's cool to see him like this, more focused and driven. The big thing is that they want to go out and enjoy their free time, but have to have a balance between fun and work. I'm sure your sailors will do great:)

Gmom, It sounds like he has found a great balance. It is nice to see our kids push themselves for something they want.
