Theraysmom I was having problems sending you a personal message. I am Alexandra and my son's friends call him Johnny sometimes and he wears glasses and loved the Military Channel. Got a letter today (3 since he left) and sounds like they are down to 82 recruits. Lets hope that they can continue to work hard as a team and finish strong.

Hi Sistersue and Mostele!

Since everyone is giving info -- My name is Maureen (hence..."mo") and my son's name is Mike. We are from Pennsylvania. Hi  Sue, Alex and of course Rita. Thanks for starting this discussion. Can't wait to meet you all!

Hi ladies: I have made reservations for my family of 3 at the Ramada Waukegan from Aug 4 - 7. We hope to get an early flight into Chicago so we can be relaxed before the Meet and Greet and be rested up for the ceremony the next day. Anyone else made reservations yet?

Yes we have  We leave on the 4th as well but return on the 8th with the Navy you never know he may grad and go and then again he might leave Sunday night so want to be ready for any extra time he may have. There are 4 of us  My husband, Daughter and my Father will be attending the Graduation. They will also attend the meet and greet. I was waiting for a letter today I have been receiving them on Wednesday. I was so disappointed when I didn't get one then I began to worry. When I got home my husband mentioned that Monday was a holiday whew I felt better. funny how you can make a routine so fast. Well I am glad that you all respond to the discussion and I can't wait to meet you all as well . My daughter is calling me obsessed but I think it is not that I think it is support I have learned so much from this site and have gotten to know lots of great people Lets stick together and help our SR's any way we can and support eachother as Well. Please post when you get any info from your SR and I will do the same.
theraysmom, I did receive a letter yesterday, so you may have a letter coming soon. I am in TX, so may get my letters before you in CA. My SR told me that he writes every Sunday. His letters are not very long even though I ask alot of questions. I hope we can get to talk to our SRs soon. I got a 6 min call on 6/29 after he had spoken to his brother for 10 mins.

My SR still doesn't know where he goes after graduation but then he wasn't issued or assigned a job when he headed out for bootcamp. Do any of you know where your sons or daughters are going after graduation?

Yes. We will be at the Ramada on the 4th for one night. We are actually coming into Chicagoland on the 2nd, and staying with friends. We have to head home on Sunday. I have no more vacation left !!! :)

Alesh-I hope so I will be waiting for the mail .  I know it was a long shot but I was hoping for a call today.

I love hearing from my SR. His letters haven't been very long either but just hearing from him is great. he really hasnt said anything negative except that is is harder that he thought. I hope and pray that he is ok. 29 days so excited and by the looks of the site I won't be the only one. there will be lots of happy people at the meet and greet as well and that is only 28 days away. Time is going faster than I thought Then again it has been a whole month since I saw my SR. I guess I better get use to that Huh.

I just joined the group.  My name is Marcie, my son is Jerico.  We are from Missouri.
Welcome mbarber! Have you got any letters this week or do you have any news about the div?

Yes, I got a letter today that was written on Sunday.  He said they had the 4th off.  He mentioned that they would have 4 inspections this week and that it would be a hard week.  Have you heard any news?

I missed his 3 week phone call.  Do you know when they can call again?

Welcome mbarber glad to have you join us

Sistersue- I just know that my son is going to Missiissippi for A school . after graduation as a Yeoman then it gets based from there but know one knows where that is yet.. lots of unanswered questions still out there.

Well I got 2 letters from my son today. He sounded tired . He says he has had a fever, pinkeye and now a sore throat, and is on watch a lot.and all this while learning and doing things over and over. He speaks highly of his RDC's which is a good thing. He says he misses us more that he could have imagined and can't wait to see us at graduation. I was happy to hear him say at graduation  no giving up for him just telling us what is going on . He did say that hell week  starts on 4-1 which is Saturday. Goes though 4-5 Sunday is a hold day so. that day isn't counted hell week  will be till next Thursday or Friday he says they will be up at 4 and lots of inspections and testing and training .So pray your SR and sent him lots of love in letters as they are going need it.  Just wish I could talk to him to help him thought this week. please be sure to keep us updated of any information you receive form your SR.
