I thought I'd start up a discussion for the wives/mothers of SR's in the same ship/division. Welcome everyone. I know I'm still missing my son very much and he's only been gone a week. We got his box with some notes in it today. My daughter and I have sent a card or letter every day since we got his address from the recruiter on Friday.
How is everyone else doing?

Hey Ladies!
I got my first letters and a phone call today! My son wants to know who's parents I'm talking to so message me your son/daughter's name so I can tell him.
Soooo happy to hear from him! I bet you're all feeling the same way.
O'Hare and Midway are both in Chicago - O'Hare is closer but considering the size of the city and the price differences between the two airports, you shouldn't count Midway out. Google "Hotels Great Lakes Navy" and make sure that when you look at their sites you check for a Navy Graduation discount. We're staying at the Residence Inn in Mettawa which is about 7 miles from RTC but there are MUCH closer hotels. There's a Residence Inn in Great Lakes that might not be full yet but there are tons of others too. Look at the info that came in your form letter.

I guess it wasn't IN your form letter - it came WITH your form letter. I hear the Milwalkee airport isn't too far away but we're not flying so we didn't check. Worth looking into though.
Good luck. Hope you can make it.
