I thought it would be good to start a sub group for our Div. Since our recruits probably know each other!

I got a letter today!  He loves his ship/division, and is very happy wit the RDC's. That is so great to hear!  I did notice something though:  On his return address is  now Ship 10, USS Enterprise, DIV 265.   Uh...why? Do they give each of the "ships/barracks" a name? I have sent out four other letters/cards without referencing the Enterprise.  Hope they make it to him!
yes, i saw that too kathy, and i thought uh oh....i didn't do that on any of my letters either!  i'm thinking though if it says the ship 10 & division 265, should be ok.  :)  soooo glad you received your letter!  yay!!  i keep looking in the mailbox for another letter but just the one so far.  i am grateful for that!

Yeah!  I got a long letter today!!  He's doing good.  He said their division is coming together really well!  I'm so glad to hear him upbeat and happy.  He misses us all but appreciates all the letters he's receiving!  Hope you all get one today too.

Where's the "Like" button? :)

congratulations!!  so happy for you that you received your letter-nothing quite like it!  :)

My letter that came today says USS Enterprise also.  My husband thinks they are his barracks.  We watched a video that said the barracks are all names of ships.  I didn't put that on any of my letters either.  We should be ok because our form letter didn't mention we had to have that ship on there.

We got letter #2 today - awesome!  He says he is doing well and staying strong.  He was recognized as being an Eagle Scout!  He mentioned that they may be making calls beginning the 18th - so keep those phones handy.  Can't wait to hear his voice!

My son is in this division also.

Hi mosquitojockey! Where did your son depart from?

Kathy

Shrevport, Louisiana

Got it! Haven't been down south. My daddy's people are/were all over TN and MS. Funny, we'd all get together up here in WA or when my daddy was in CA...didn't take long for that Southern accent to transfer over. I think I was born to be in the south...just got transplanted to the Northwest! LOL

We are staying at the Residence Inn as well. Bringing out 16 yr. old daughter. Unfortunately my SR's grandma is on the list, but she does not fly. Only way for her to get there is to have my brohter drive with her from Seattle. That would but our list at 5 :( so not sure grandma will get to see grandson follow in her husbands footsteps as he so desperately wants.  Wish she could just arrive and get in!  What do larger families do?
