Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

It should be cooling down by then. Heat wave in IL is said to end this thursday, and 9pm.

Today heat index where im from 3 hours south of GL was 120. HORRIBLE. almost 90 degrees ALREADY and 8am this morning..

I know your right Nicole, lol. I'm sure we have all been excited, apprehensive, nervous,  proud and ecstatic all at the same time!!!!!!  it's really cool to get it from everyone's different perspectives.  Girlfriends/ Wives, Moms, Grandparents,Aunts,Sisters and Friends.  How dressy should we be on Friday for the graduation?  I have purchased a couple of nautical themed items tops and shorts.  Please let us know how most people will be dressed ok?  Heck I'm a little jealous of you Nicole, wish I was gonna be meeting my boyfriend I have'nt seen in 7 weeks....:)  I'm right there with you Christine on the heat.  Im in Austin TX and were having the worst draught in 50 years.  Also in triple digits for over a month now.  We surpassed last summer's  triple digits a couple of weeks ago.  We only had 22 days for the whole summer last year. Were way beyond that already now...:) They say the highways are buckling in Oklahoma with the heat.  Thats gonna be the first leg of my trip to drive from here to Wichita KS on Monday July 25th.  Then drive straight through to  Great Lakes IL from there!!!!

People dress "Business casual" i'd say. Just be comfy, and look nice enough to stand next to a proud sailor in dress whites(:
