I thought it would be good to start a sub group for our Div. Since our recruits probably know each other!

my son matthew called TODAY too....was the best phone call EVER!!  sooooo good to hear his voice!  he sounded like himself; not like a "man" and not a little boy either....but just content if that makes sense!  it was very short, he said he only had 20 minutes total and lots of calls to make.  :)  i completely forgot the questions i was going to ask....but it was wonderful to get that call.  hoping you all will get your call SOON and hugs in the meantime! martha  **oh and he asked me to mail him more stamps and envelopes lol...!!

I have to share this with all of you.  On my son's list, he put, MOM, DAD, and MawMaw, no names.  He is so funny.  I thought about it and wrote to him and told him that he had to put our names on there.

My son put Mom and Dad too.  I hope on the real list he put our real names.  LOL

Okay 10/265 moms, I got a letter from my SR today. He sent me the names of seven fellow SR's in 10/265 who need mail and SUPPORT. I will be sending out cards and/or letters to each of them Tuesday afternoon. If anyone is interested in helping out and showing these young men some support and luv..let me know. Send me a message and I can reply with their names. I don't think I should post them on here for all to see. Not sure of the rules around that sort of thing?  TY!

I'd love to write and send a card.  I sent you a friend request.  You can just shoot me an e-mail with some names.  Thanks!
Sure, I would love to help support other shipmates.  I will send you a friend request.
My son, Anthony, left from Shreveport, LA on June 21 for boot camp.  I just found this group - (there's nothing slow about me!)  I'm glad to find other moms in the same division and am looking forward to PIR.  It's not too far away now.  Just made plane reservations before all air fares go up.  Anyone still needed to book a flight might want to go ahead and do that because with all this government mess who knows how the airfares might be affected. Anyway, we've gotten 4 letters and 2 phone calls from our RC.  All have been short but that's ok.  Not sure where we are staying yet but it sounds like things are going to be filling up so we need to get on the ball.  Found the meet @greet info. and I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of great people then!

when did you get your phone calls?

Amy, my son left from Shreveport on the 21st also. He has made friends with two others boys that left with him. No Anthony that I know of! They are all 3 in 10/265. What div is your son? And we are from TX too

...what area are you from?

Glad you found us...lots of good info on here!

We are from Harleton.  It's close to Longview/Marshall area.  Anthony is in 10/265.  We will be at the meet & greet so hopefully we can meet with you/  I am so ready to see my sailor!

Phone call and a letter this morning - what could be better....... a hug!  That's coming soon.  Sounds like they are coming together.  Can't wait for PIR.

Lucky you!  I wish I would have gotten a phone call.  How long did he get to talk?
