For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Got a letter from my SR yesterday. He said that it is very hot and humid and they have been on "black flag" so they can't do anything on those days. They are coming up with their design for their flag. I can't wait to see it! He did say with the weather like it is the tempers have been going- but then everyone cools down really quick and then the apologies are being said. He got a ribbon for National Defense.
I don't know about everyone else but it seems like everyday the tears come more easily and it is not getting easier for me and we are on the downward stretch.
I can't wait to meet everyone! I just wonder how we are going to know who each other is.....

Hi, Nicole, hey, what is "black flag?" Are you going to the meet and greet on Thursday before graduation? I'm hoping they have name tags so we can write our names, and our SR's ship and div. I teach kindergarten and have a lot of name tags. I thought I would bring them. Just a thought. I wonder if the air conditioning truly isn't working, or if it's part of BOOT CAMP HELL!!! Sam would probably say the latter. Has anyone had another call yet? The call tore me up.

Hi Pam, I am thinking "black flag" has something to do with the weather being hot and humid. True it could be part of "hell". I have not received another call- I'm still trying to get over the other one. Yes it was great hearing from him, but I killer on my heart. My husband and I will be at meet and greet on Thursday. I hope we get name tags, but I don't think we will still know each other because of our sign in on this site. If they have name tags I will write on it my sign in on this site so hopefully we can find each other. :)

I loved the phone call, I know you did also. But I am not sad, I am proud and happy Tom made this choice. My son loves it there and that has made it Much easier for me to accept. Once I heard that he liked it, I now feel wonderful. He was headed down a bad path, and now he is starting a great career. Boot camp is not Hell. It is getting them ready for "the Real Deal". that what comes next. Now , that, Deployment, WILL be hard.

I agree that boot camp is preparing our kids for what is to come next, however, I bet if you asked most of the SR's, they would say it is "hell" regardless of the fact they are preparing them for the real deal. I know that it is certainly "hell" for me.

I am sorry , I didn't mean to upset you. This is certainly NOT "hell" for me at all. I am happy for him and very "proud". It is well worth it. I had a son go to college and I cried then too. This is different, they are far away, but if college was not for your SR, then this career may be a good choice. Don't be so down, be happy, be proud. Look forward to the excitment. Encourage them, don't play into the rough stuff. You have to let go, the sooner you do, the better it is for both of you. Trust me :)

I am happy. And I'm sorry if I sounded testy. Just got a letter from Sam, and I was a bit sad. He said several of the kids have been pushed back two weeks for graduation. He is so afraid it will happen to him. He said he is so worried he cannot hardly swallow. I wrote to him and said that if it does happen, it's not failure, it's gainng more experience in an area that may need it.

Nicole, I was doing good cause her phone call was so upbeat and positive. Then I get a letter this week that really wasn't sad, she's doing good and making friends. But it made me sad (and a little depressed) as she wrote "Ma, I was so excited when you picked up - I almost cried. At that moment, I wanted to quit and come back home because I miss you so much...."
I'm working on it, but the tears are back for me too......
I pray we all continue to be strong, not too much longer to go.....

I completely understand what your saying. I cry everytime I read one of her letters, but she also makes me smile! And more times than not that child of mine cracks me up in her letters. =)))) Hang in there, were are getting there and it cant come soon enough!!!! =)))

We are from Southern Indiana. We are staying about 6 miles from base=) My two sons are also going to make it, we think! I am SO hoping to have a picture of them all 3 in their uniforms=)))))) Both boys are in the Airforce, and my only daughter joined th U.S. Navy =) Im so very proud of my babies!!!
