I noticed that there are a couple discussions on specific Ship #'s/Div #'s but I did not see ours. If you have a SR in this Division you have found the right place!

Let's share a little about our SR's...

My boyfriend was in DEP for about 5 or so months or so before leaving for boot camp. He signed for 10 years as a Nuke and will be going to A-school later this year, hopefully in South Carolina!

My son is in 07/289 , He graduates Sept 1st. I still havent gotten a letter or call. I just keep running to mailbox everyday..

he has been gone 2 weeks , and I just wanna know he is ok.. This site helps so much to know Im not alone..!!!  Carla

Hi Carla, It seems we are the same, my son has been gone 2 weeks and I have not heard from him yet, I dont plan on leaving the house until I hear from him. I am hoping for a call tomorrow but its probably just wishful thinking. Please let us know when you get a call or letter and I will do the same. I keep hearing no news is good news. How old is your son? Mine is 18.

I have not let my phone out of my site either kim,  my Jacob is 18 to.. He signed up in Jan, and graduated highschool in May and left July 12.  Omg a phone call would be so great.. I just want to know he is doing ok..

This is so much harder then I expected but I can only imagine what our boys are going thru. I found another mom her son in same 07/289.  Im from alabama , where u from?  Vinniejoesmom is from Newyork. We both flying into chicago on august 31st. Whats your plans?  The more we stick together we can write our boys and tell them that their mothers have become friends too.. Its got to help them knowing that. I dont mind giving my number to you either, maybe one nite next week we can cry and comfort. Its so great not feeling alone.

I go in Jacobs room alot, lay on his bed and talk to him.. lol Just cant help it.  So lets hope we hear from them soon. I will let you know soon I hear anything ..!! !!!!!! write back soon k.. Carla from bama...

Wow! My son is Jacob too he signed in Jan. too and left Julu 11. We are from Texas and yes we are going on Aug 31. Staying at the navy lodge till early sat morning I dont know how much time we can be with him, I am hoping for all of thursday and friday. I slept in my Jacobs room for the first week,(my husband wasnt happy about that).

I'm with you all on the running to the mailbox part as well as sleeping with my cell phone on high every night. You know it's bad when you not only know the mailmans name, but when he knows yours haha!

I'm hoping for a letter sometime next week because a lot of the members here have been mentioning that week three is usually when they start to write and what not.

Yeah, even though I'm not really expecting  a call so soon, i still keep it by my side at all times! I would hate to miss a chance to talk to him! I am also flying out with my SR's family on 8/31, I think we are coming back home Saturday. I'm glad we finally got a group going with our division. Sounds like my SR is one of the oldest! haha, he's 26!

Same here! I'll be flying out with my SR's family on 8/31 but am unsure as to how long we will stay there... I have been wandering around the site and noticed a couple members mentioning that if your SR is going out of state (not in IL) for A-school then they will be leaving early Friday morning. Hopefully I can get some answers soon!

Has anyone here received a letter from theie SR yet?

No letter yet hoping for one this week, and i wondered about friday too if they leave we are going to be there all day friday without him. This sucks!!!!!

Any letters today ladies? I'm in SC and i haven't gotten one yet! :(

NO! I am thinking tomorrow or Friday for sure. I hope so anyway.
