Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Thank you very much for your congratulations! It was a huge relief, and now I only have about...3 more boards to go-lol!! I got my letters today...SIX of them to be exact :) He completely made my week!! He said that the food is actually pretty awesome and he has a new found love for Caesar Salad-lol!! He said they had their swim test and he passed. He said he has no idea why he was picked for the 900 div, and he didn't really say what he's been doing in it. He said that they got in trouble once and had to do IT, that was written on the 22nd, but he didn't say how bad it was or what they got in trouble for. He was talking about them having their first inspection on the 25th and that he was kind of nervous for it and their first test today. All in all, it sounds like things are starting to get better for him. He said he got one of my letters, which I wrote on the 16th, the day I got his form letter. But he didn't say anything about getting the other letter I sent him which I mailed on the 20th or 21st, but he probably got that one Monday or Tuesday, after he had already mailed out these letters. All I know is that now that that one board is out of the way, I'm going to start writing him a TON more. I've felt so bad because I've been focusing most of my attention to studying as opposed to writing letters..but that will soon change! :)

Thanks Ash for sharing!! I hope i receive letter(s) today!! What is IT? I am glad he received your letter too. That is what hurt me that they didn't receive any letters from home last week and I have written everyday!! UGHH where is my mail lady?!!! LOL Oh and thanks for the post of the t-shirts. I am going to order mine today.

IT is intensive training, or intense training...either way it's just like PT but harder. He said they had their first PT test in the most humid building he's ever set foot in, and that they were sweating within minutes of walking in and not doing anything. Makes me feel so bad for them having to do all these things in this ridiculous heat. :( I just hope they're staying hydrated!!

Received letters (2) from my SR. He says he loves this Division! It is making him a stronger man!! He says he is doing really great and that he should receive his first pay tomorrow!! Will see :)
Ash - my SR really didn't say much about the IT to me in my letter, but to his best friend he talked about it and he showed it to me. Wow, but he did mention passing the PT and swimming test - he said he could improve in the PT though. LOL

Did anyone else notice, if you received letters this week, if their ship number had changed on their return address?? My SR didn't say anything specifically about it, but I know he said that he had been moved from his first bunkmate and I saw on the envelope it said ship 04, Rueben James (I think that's how it's spelled), div 942. So when I wrote him back I used ship 04 instead of 02...I should have mentioned this earlier but I completely forgot! Just wondering if anyone else's SR used a different ship number.
