For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi NavyMOM5243, That's when I got mine too...so surprised and excited. Glad to hear your SR is doing well too!! My call was SO short. Wishing for more time, but realizing I'm being kinda selfish...Hope everyone gets a call!

Mine was short too! My SR is keeping a good sense of humor. He is telling me stories that are making me laugh. He said that more people have left for either medical reasons or quitting. He says he is in it for the long haul which is great!! He feels sorry for those that had the wisdom teeth pulled. He fortunately, had his pulled a couple of years ago and he rested the entire day leisurely. In BC they don't get the same luxury and he realizes that.
Now ...continuing to countdown to graduation. I think I am going to look at the T-shirts now for our Ship/Div to show support.

My SR said the same thing, but the one's who want o quit just get rolled back for the most part, so they're actually there longer! I'm glad he didn't have to have his wisdom teeth out either. That must be rough to have done there.
If you find actual pictures of the tshirts, let me know. I've only found the order form with drawings, so it's hard to tell, but I'm probably going to order some anyway :)

I can't find the actual pictures but I ordered them anyway. The only ones that will be ready in time for PIR are the black ones. The grey ones take longer to deliver. She said the black ones will be delivered 1 week prior to PIR.

He said a bunch of them are planning to go to Six Flags after the ceremony. They will need some fum :-) Have a fantastic weekend ladies!!!

I got my call too. It was short and mtngrl2014, I don't think you are any more selfish than the rest of us. I wanted more too. But my SR sounded great. Didn't have teeth pulled either so he was thankful for that. Hasn't been in SIQ at all, although he said he wasn't feeling great, due to all the change in environment is all he thought. He said they had lost quite a few, he even thought it was a new record. I just can't express how good and strong and confident he sounded already. This is such an amazing experience for all of these young men and women. Can't wait to hear his voice again.

Are we allowed to send phone cards with our letters? My son said alot of them aren't working?

Yes, you can send phone cards. I sent one to my SR. He said he had already bought one though with the $150 card they gave them that they deduct from their first pay check.
