congrats on your letters. how is he, was he in good spirits? if it is not too intrusive, share something with us? does he hate the food, or the DI jerks...anything lol
Thank you. He said he is doing good other than missing home. My mom got a letter from him as well. He said the food is good, which surprises me because he is a picky eater lol. He said its tough but he was hanging in there. He originally transposed his DIV number so all the mail I have been sending the last 2 weeks has not been received yet. Poor guy thinks no one has been writing him. I sent new letters out yesterday so hopefully he will have them by the end of the week!!
praying with you! let me know as soon as you find out what's going on!
Hang in there. I am sure he hasn't forgotten about you at all. I know they keep them very busy. Did he have stamps with him when he left? They only get a few hours to write and most of them are spending the extra time studying and writing quick letters home. Just keep writing him and supporting him. That is the best thing you can do right now.

Hi Navygirl,

I'm sure its hard for you, but his mind is so full of trying to remember everthing they are throwing at him. Don't beat yourself up over a letter. I am waiting for a letter or phone call from my son. I am sure will call when he gets the opportunity. I understand some are taking test and trying to make sure they past them. We are probably not the first things on their minds. I want my son to give his FULL ATTENTION, to his current responsibilities and duties as assigned. It does get better. Just hang in there and keep righting supporting letters of encouragement letting him know you love him and support him and want him to do well. Keep busy and occupied. I'm sure this is what he is expecting you to do while waiting.

OK ladies, I'm not as religious as I should be, however I believe in the Lord. So in 1 of my letters to my son, I told him I know they hit the racks @ 10, so as soon as he closed his eyes to say the Lord's prayer and no matter what I was doing I would do the same, so that would be "our moment" together out of each day. Maybe it's silly but wanted to share that with you all, so maybe it helps you all come up with something that you can send to your SR so every one can have a moment together each day since we don't get calls, or much for letters.

Hi, toogoldn,

Thanks so much for that! My son knows I am a praying woman. (Also in ministry getting ready for ordination!) I send him scriptures of encouragement in his letters letting him know he can do "All things through Christ who strengthens him." He knows how to pray and I tell him to remember what he has been taught and know that I am out here praying on his behalf. I beleive they will make it. I pray for all of the SR's and of course us moms out here pulling our hair out wondering what and how they are doing? I tell him that each morning he gets up, have the mindset that he is going to accomplish and complete everything set before him that day with excellence. I think they need to be reminded of who they are and what they are made of even though they may not feel like it with all the yelling at them. We will be at the half way mark this week.  From this point I believe its a matter of staying the course. They will do this and so will we.

Thought I would  share this link for anyone interested in ordering DIV shirts. I just found the link and will be ordering one to wear to the meet-n-greet

Your welcome
Ran into a little issue! My SR said that he had not received our letters and we realized today that his return address is different from the address that was listed on his PIR form. Could someone PM me with the numbers of sailor drive? 340- something! Thanks!
My son orginally transposed the DIV# and as of Sunday he had not received any of the letters we had sent. I talked to the Public Affairs Office and they said they try to locate the SR before returning them but they have over 10,000 people there. As of yesterday I still had not received any of my letters back. Hoping he has received them by now. I have mailed several since getting the correct DIV# just incase LOL
