Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

For those who loved ones are on Ship 02, you may ask "Who's 'Reuben James" (and NO, no reference to a Kenny Roger's song)
Born in Delaware in about 1776, James joined the United States Navy and served on several ships, including the frigate USS Constellation. During the Barbary Wars, the American frigate Philadelphia was captured by the Barbary pirates when it ran aground in the city of Tripoli, on the southern shores of theMediterranean Sea. Lieutenant Stephen Decatur, along with a group of volunteers that included Reuben James, entered the harbor of Tripoli under the cover of darkness in an attempt to burn the Philadelphia so that the pirates could not use her.
The volunteers boarded the Philadelphia on 16 February 1804 and were met by Barbary pirates who were guarding their prize. In the ensuing hand-to-hand combat, Reuben James, with both of his hands already wounded, positioned himself between Lieutenant Decatur and a sword-wielding pirate. Willing to give his life for his captain, James took a blow from the sword and survived.
James continued his Naval career, serving many years with Decatur. He was forced to retire in January 1836 because of ill health. He died in 1838 at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Washington, DC.

Well, no luck with pictures yet. If you see a tall, thin female w/glasses and blond hair cut very short...that could be our division. Just a FYI - our division is diverse!

something about the 900 division recruits - they get a few less phone calls and letters to write because they are practicing for PIR when other recruits get down time. I remember watching the moms get letters and calls when the 900 division wasn't calling at all. After talking with my son following PIR, he said they'd be so frustrated because when everyone was released for the evening, the 900 division was on their way again to practice. Some people say it's like 2 different boot camps for them!

well, heard from another mother in our group (another 02/944) and she got her "I'm Here" call. So, now I wonder who she called. Trying not to be upset over this but I still wonder.

ATTENTION 02/944 - (I'm going to start taking 3 day vacations every week) because when I got home today, two letters from my daughter. Telling me that they have been going through LOTS of IT due to people in the division not able to keep their mouths shut. A few are costing the whole division and it sounds like they best ship up or ones will want them shipped OUT. She is in the Navy Band learning from their senior band members (playing the bass drum). Will be busy sending her LOTS of inspirational mail (says she needs it).

My phone didnt ring and I missed my sons call. Just devasted. I wasnt home when he called my husband either didnt get to talk to him at all :(. I am one very sad momma. I cried like a baby! My hubby said he passed his swim test! That was great news. Took his first PFA didn't pass everything. 12 seconds off the run and 2 push ups. So he not to far off! He did say he was tired and wanted as many letters as we could send. So I guess I will have to amp up my writting and call all myh friends to write him.
