For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

He's doing watch quals this weekend, but I let him know for the future! :) Thanks again so much. I'm always amazed at what a great resource this site has proven to be.
How's Mike doing preparing for comps??

So far so good. He and I spoke late this morning. He is only on 2 hour mandatory study time, but thinks that he will put in 5 hours today just to feel at ease about tomorrow. He told me that he had room inspections on Thursday and after comp, a uniform inspection either Tuesday or Wednesday. I think Mike is more excited about having dinner at our favorite NYC restaurant than graduation!

Haha I don't blame him! I move back to CA tomorrow and I might be more excited to have my favorite foods again then I am to be done with nursing school!! haha
Will say a prayer that comps go well tomorrow! Know it will be so nice to be DONE!
When do you see Mike? Are you going to grad or is he flying home soon after?
My trip is the 12th...counting down :) :)

Mmm.. California. What part? I visited my family in San Francisco and went to foodie heaven for 3 days.
He's flying up here Friday night and will be in town for a few days. Then we're going to do a three day road trip down so he can bring his car to the base.
Is your trip all set? What fun stuff do you guys have lined up for your vacation?

Southern CA....born and raised there. I've been in Indiana for the past 15 months for school and am done tomorrow!
That will be great to have him around to spend time with :) Are you guys hoping for Prototype in NY?
We don't really have too much planned....any ideas for us? I definitely want to see downtown Charleston, for sure. Maybe the plantations...not sure! Open to whatever the trip brings!!

We're open to wherever the Navy takes us in this pipeline journey. No preference :)
Downtown Charleston is beautiful. Savannah isn't too far away (about 2.5 hours) so if you can do out of town trips, definitely check that out. Don't forget sushi at O-Ku (on King Street). Happy hour (from 5-7) is great :) As far as beaches go, I like Isle of Palms over Folly Beach. Mt. Pleasant has some nice areas (where Old Village Post Inn & Restaurant is) so that might be a good place to hang out.

Class A comps DONE! All passed!
Just uniform inspections to go...Side note... Mike is an honorman in Mechanical Equipments. Also first in math and basic machinery. Second overall :) Ahhh so proud of him :D

Congratulations to Class A for a job well done! And congratulations to Mike for all of his accomplishments! I have a little wait until I go to my son's graduation, but I am looking forward to going to Charleston-October should be nice. Class M is moving along...

maryquitecontrary - Will you be going to the A school graduation? My husband and I will be going. I talked with my son today and he wants to send us to a nice restaurant for our anniversary when we are there. We will be married 26 years on 10/12 so I think we will go on Friday while he relaxes at the hotel. I can't believe how he has matured since he has joined the Navy!
