For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I had to laugh at "you are too old for this" I posted the same thing when we waited two weeks ago. We had two different dates and I was hanging over the "white wishing well" almost all day the first day with the cell phone on one side of me and the house phone on the other. Only to find out they hadn't gone and we had to repeat it all over the next day, at least the nerves were a little better the second day....I think it was exhaustion!
Good luck to all your SR's....just think they will be Sailors in the morning!

Tonya: I loved reading your blog...I think I read for about an hour. You are very blessed to have such a good marriage and beautiful child. You are also a very talented writer, and great crafter. I loved the quilt you made of Ryver's T-shirts. You really need to do one of those every year...very special. You could make money making those for people and they would supply the fabric (t's). Talented and well loved. What a blessed life you have, can't wait for that special picture tomorrow
