So happy that I found this forum...just wish I would have found it much sooner...as I type this, our Midshipman daughter is at Cortramid East.  She flies out to day for Kings Bay, GA...as the first rotation for the sub week.  She is very excited and looking forward to the 4 - possible 5 - days "underway!"  Since it is a sub and things are classified - we will have no contact with her until she returns, as they can not take their cell phones.  :(

I would love to hear from anyone else who's child is there for the next four weeks.  I know that it will be busy for them, and such an amazing opportunity.

Sooooo today is their last day!   I have heard from our daughter more this week, than any other - she has been on the Aviation rotation.  She said that the entire 4 weeks were amazing and she is so glad that she got to experience it all...but she is ready to come home!  We pick her up at the airport tomorrow - have a week with her and then take her back to college.  Very excited to see her face when she talks about her adventures!  She said she will go back stronger and more informed about her future with the Navy...very cool!

Hope all of you enjoy having your sons and daughters back home!

Would love to keep in touch, so I will check back when I can!

Yes!!

Last Day!!

Now on to the next part of their Naval Journey.... signing & decisions.  Should be an interesting ride.

Our ds sounds as though he, too, is ready to come home.  Ready for a couple weeks of sleeping in a bed he is used to, i guess.  lol   Had a great month though seeing & experiencing so many things.
