For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Is there a Nuke Ball in GC? If so, When?
My Sailor said that chances are he won't be able to come back for my prom, which ultimately sucks.
A friend of mine who has a fiancee in Groton CT said they had a SUB Ball, Do nukes have this? If so, when? I'm wondering mainly because he has asked a few people and absolutely no one he has asked knows, not to mention he's new in GC, if anyone knows, or has input that'd be much appreciated, thanks!:)

My first weekend (alone) with my sailor was Thanksgiving last year. We went to the beach... it was 80 degrees. AMAZING. :)I'm hoping I can go to the ball! I'll be attending college only four hours away, so being there won't be an issue for me. It might be an issue if the ball is after Aaron graduates prototype though or if he has to work the night the ball is. He missed both my Junior and Senior prom, so I'm hoping to make it to one. :)

Yup. I didn't go. Thought about it... but didn't go. I was pretty emotional about the whole deal. If it wouldn't have been horrible timing (his Power School Comp was the Tuesday after my Prom), he would have been able to come. But he did his best to be understanding about it. And he skipped out on guys night to stay home and talk to me... even though I worked on homework all night so I wouldn't get behind in class when I went to see him the next weekend. And it meant the world to me that he did so.
You'll get through it, I promise. But no promises that it'll be easy.
Just remember that it's okay to cry sometimes. :) -

Definitely. Almost did some crying tonight. His mom kinda got EXTREMELY upset about us wanting to get married. She didn't listen to anything he said, she assumes we're going to get engaged, then get married a month later, in reality it'd be almost 10 months later. He planned on talking to my dad and asking to marry me in december(he still might, because he may not be able to come back home 2 months later) but she wants him to wait until our 1 year, in february, which is only 2 months after what he planned, which we dont get at all. & to us it makes perfect sence to be engaged longer and have everything planned out, like written plans and such, so that once we are ready to actually get married, we'll be able to because we'll have it planned, and it won't be last minute.
