So the summer is dwindling down.  I would love to do an overnight meet.  Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, Allentown seem central.  The Japan N4M's (3 of us showed up) met in Gettysburg.  We did the historical sites.  We are planning another one in Washington DC in December (more are coming).  The army/navy game is there.  Some are volunteering for it and the rest are planning to attend "the laying of the wreaths" at Arlington cemetery.   They are both the same weekend.  PA moms are invited.

Anyone up for the renaissance fair in October?  I am up for any ideas.  Day trip or overnight.  Allentown is one hour for me.

Kim,

I'm going to the Pgh. meet on the 27th. Are you joining us?  Hershey/Allentown is a little farther for me.  (I am, however, going to be in Hershey on the 23rd for son's summer trip with his day camp! OH YEAH! hehehe).  I am planning on volunteering the Navy/Army game in December, since it's in DC this year...it's a NO BRAINER for me :)  Hope to meet some more new moms there!

Hi Kim...

I'm almost 5 hours from Allentown, but Hershey area is a 'go' for me depending on the date/time - What is the DC planned trip (I'm very familiar with DC and only 3 hours to Shady Grove metro) - 45min. ride to Union Station --

Also, when is the Army/Navy game? I'm interested in that as well -

I PROBABLY SHOULD FINISH READING THIS BEFORE ASKING ANYMORE QUESTIONS AS SOME WHERE PROB. ALREADY ANSWERED!?!?!?!? Sorry.........

The army/navy game is a Saturday in December.  I volunteered last year in Philadelphia.  It is the same day as the "laying of the wreaths"  http://dc.about.com/od/christmasevents/a/WreathsAcrossAm.htm

There is a group from the Japan Navy moms that are going to meet this year.  One of the moms who lives in Arlington is researching hotels for those that want to sleep over.

Some are going to the game and some are going to the cemetery.  I plan on going to the cemetery.  You are all welcome to join us.  We will post it on several Navy4moms sites when plans are set.

Thanks Kim
Kim any info on the Japan moms meeting?? I will soon be one -- lol--

Okay, Sorry, I'm confused! Is this an 'old' discussion on the meeting or a new discussion of an 'old' meeting date??? LOL!!!

The most recent post seemed to be this past Monday for a meeting near Hershey or was that an old one????

Duh??? Okay, you are talking a recent meeting - Like I orginally posted, I'm up for a meeting in Hershey/Harrisburg depending on the date/time.

Oh, what is the Renaissance Fair? Well, where is it, I should ask?

I live very close to the Renaissance Faire (north of Lancaster -just off the Turnpike) and can help plan that event if you guys would like to do that - if it is the beginning of Oct.  I could do Harrisburg or Hershey also.  Cathy

Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster all sound like fun.  I met a group of moms in Gettysburg this spring.  We did the tourist stuff and had dinner together.  That was fun.  I heard that the Christmas lights in Hershey are something to see but that might be too cold.

Zachsmom, I thought Renaissance would be fun for everyone and meet for lunch or dinner.  If we ate outside the fairre people would have the choice of just coming for the meal.

Seeing as it is a drive for some of us I thought it would be nice to do an event and meal.  That way we can play tourist and meet.  Some might stay overnight.

I saw some dinner theaters in Lancaster and a cool murder mystery train ride out of Strasburg but that would probably require everyone to stay overnight.  Are there any suggestions for Lancaster or Harrisburg?

I am up to anything.  We are probably going to need someone from one of these areas to pick something.

Allentown is a little too far for me to travel - I'm in Erie. Hershey/Lancaster is doable, but still 6 hours away.  It would depend I guess. Would LOVE the Ren fair...
The Ren Faire is only through October here in Lancaster County - it is actually the most northern part of Lancaster County - (Manheim) if that helps you gals traveling - just off the PA turnpike - so very easy to find.  There is also a hotel right there.  so......if this is what we would like to do -we need to plan soon.  I will be gone the end of Oct - to head to Sunny San Diego to see my son!!!! woo-hoo!
