Got our first real letter today!! He is doing well and told us not to worry and to let everyone know he's cool. He also wanted us to tell all his friends and family that he almost has no time to write but to please send him letters. Was so nice hearing from him can't wait for our next letter.
Anyone from Brooklyn? My son told me that he has become friends with your son.
I got two letters today from my SR. Several interesting tidbits, but one I thought most important to share -- He said that the letters should become more free-flowing from here on out, as he was told he would be able to mail every night. Woohoo!
Well I kinda thought so because I have received several letters and so has has girlfriend. However he said he didnt need any phone cards. Makes me think the division might not be making phone calls.
Let's hope they still get to make some phone calls, too. I have to think positive... :o)

Hooyah!!!  a group that I can belong !! our SR has sent two letters the last received on Saturday.  His spirits seem well - things are going as planned lol  He also shared that he is bunkmates with a fellow Texan from Anderson ring any bells for anybody?  Ladies we can do this they say giving birth was the hardest - yeah right letting go is the hardest in my book!!!

My younger brother is also on ship 07/div 308, we have received a couple letters from him. The second is better than the first! he is doing well and has passed his swimming test and other tests they have taken so far! he said he struggles at times but will not give up :) Makes me so proud. cant wait for Sept. 16th graduation :)

snapple    yes I think the letters do get better as time goes on. That first letter made me cry knowing how miserable he was. The later ones sound better and that helps get through this.( I say later ones like I have been getting them for months!) I do mean even in a weeks time.

Got our third letter today. He seems do being good. He did ask for some stationary are we allowed to send that does anyone know??

Any other families from California???

I have read that others have been able to send stationary without a problem. I would send it to him in the smallest packaging that it would fit into, but that's just me. They are going to open it anyhow to see what is inside.

Yay for phonecalls! I hope everyone was able to connect with their SR. I was told not to expect too many calls, as they are usually earned and they just keep on talking. They almost lost their call privileges today and already lost mail for 2 days. They have got to learn to shut up and work together.

Yes Got our Phone call!!!!!! So nice to hear his voice. Just like Cluebee said no mail for two days but they are getting mail tonight. Wants his friends to write more so I'll be on them this week. Just so happy to hear his voice.
