I am a rookie navy wife my husband just left for bootcamp about 2 days ago. does anyone know how often he will get to call or how long does it take for the family to move with the sailor onceboot camp and traing are done. I need some type of comfort because it seems like nor family or friends understand how I miss him and how my kids miss their dad. I never felt this depressed.

thanks danielle, it is comforting to me to know all of this. do I need to send him a calling card or anything for him to be able to call? and are the phone calls really that short. how does your son like boot camp so far?
how soon did you get your first letter

Left the following message for you on the other forum discussion you started. Suggestion - in the future, one discussion would be enough - to keep all the responses in one place.

Vonecia,

Please go to this group's site. New Moms Stop Here

Look at the reference pages on the right, just underneath the member icons. You'll find a sample of the form letter. Links to videos of what your husband will be going through in the next 8 weeks, link to the Recruit Training Command, etc. Lots of really good information. Those pages won't go away so you can always pop back into the group's site and access the information. When you get your form letter, it'll tell you when your husband's PIR date will be.  There are groups associated with PIR dates - members whose recruit will be graduating on the same date. Join your PIR group and meet up with other families who are experiencing the same feelings you are going through. Most likely your PIR group will be Sept 30, 2011 (click here). Check out the info and confirm the date when you get the form letter.

You are going to be OK. You and the kids are going to be so proud of him. Good luck.
