Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Marriage and Moving...help!
Hi guys!
My SR is currently in boot camp (we're engaged), and we were hoping to get married the weekend after he arrives in Charleston for A-School (graduates 9/9, marriage 9/17). I just got a job down there so we can live together again, after living together for two years before Boot Camp. I currently have everything he owns.
I heard that if we get married AFTER he gets to A-School the Navy won't help us with move down there. Is that true? I don't want to marry during his PIR weekend because my mother won't be there and she'd never forgive me.
My new job won't pay for the move and my old job paid so poorly I haven't been able to save anything for this. I can't afford to stay in a hotel for months.
Any advice?

It is true the USN will not pay to move you to his "A" School if you are not married before he left for bootcamp.

court house marry and dont tell anyone then plan a wedding when you can both get to what ever state your family is in... thats what ALOT of ppl do... or tell ppl lol its up to you

My husband and I got married while he was in A school. There was a lot of paperwork and process that he had to go through to be able to do it but eventually everything went as planned. I We did the courthouse wedding, and have a ceremony later on sometime. I've heard the navy doesnt like to allow their SRs to get married on PIR weekend. We did the do it yourself move with a uhual and they gave us a certain amount of money up front and we had to turn in the receipts and they reimburse us. Good luck, hope everything works out for you.

AWESOME. I heard some people getting married PIR weekend but that really wasn't our plan to begin with. So good! And I've got no problem with a DIY move. They gave you a bit up front? Mind sharing how much? And how long did it take to get set up?
I got the job so I'm definitely going down, but right now it's looking like I'll have to stay in a hotel long-term and that's not very cost-effective.

The USN will not give you any money up front to move to the "A" School as you are not on his orders. You had to be married prior to him going to bootcamp for you to be on his orders to his "A" School.

Hey Taylor. Look up "Wagnerswife" on here. She recently (very recently) married her Nuke PIR weekend before he left for Charleston. She'd be able to give you the inside scoop on how that situation would work. :)

I didn't move with him until he finished A school and they gave us about $1300 up front. I'm not really sure how all that works but I think we were allotted like $2300 for the move.

My fiance and I are also moving to Charleston after he graduates from officer development school= end of August. I don't know about your question but... good luck. (We have not planned a wedding date)
