Hi ladies!

I got my letter today! Lots of news, but he sounds awesome. Found out for sure he has to leave EARLY in the morning after graduation, so we'll have to squeeze everything into the precious few hours after graduation before he flies out to Charleston. I wish these last few weeks would fly by!

I am sorry to hear your son has to leave right after graduation. I hope that mine does not have to but it is a possibility.

My son completed one of the form letters this time and said he had alot to do to get ready for hell week and that the form counted as our letter. He said he is doing well.  Hard to believe it has only been 5 weeks. Seems so much longer.

Got 1 letter today. It was great to hear from him. He also sounds good. Said they were getting ready for hell week. Not sure what that means.  I thought his A school was in Great Lakes but found out that all medical has been moved to San Antonio, I hope we will have time with him before he ships out.

Glad that each of you recieved letters. I too wish the next 3 weeks would fly by.  Hope to have an opportunity to meet some of you at graduation.

Hello Vipergirl,

I guess I'll have to read up on what hell week is! At first my SR thought he had until Tuesday morning, but found out they have to leave at 0100 or 0200 following graduation :( It makes sense though, since they are having graduation on a Thursday, that gives them Friday to ship them all out...

I hope to meet you and everyone else at graduation too. Were you going to the meet and greet?

Oh Mtngrl,

I sure hope that this 'ship out' date is one of those that will change at the last minute.  I certainly hope we all get more than just a couple of hours.  I will be praying for that.

Yes we are flying in on Wed so we are going to try and go by the Ramada. I understand that is where the meet and greets are held.
Me too.

Vipergirl,

I too thought the medical A school was in Great Lakes, but that recently changed.  We actually heard this from some other Sailors during Navy Week.  We are fairly close to Great Lakes so that would have been a very nice option for us.  I guess we will take the hand that we are dealt.

My son will also have A school at Great Lakes, we are planning to stay until Saturday afternoon/evening.  Can't wait.  19 more days!!
I was told that due to base closing it was moved.  Is your son a corpsman too?
Yes, they did close the school up there in GL and yes, my son is also a corpsman.  I thought he said there was about 5 of them in the division that will all be going to TX.
It is nice they will other recruits they know.  Where are your from?  Maybe we will be able to meet along mtngirl2014 at the Meet and Greet.
