For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

Well, we have rooms reserved for 4 days as we do not know how long his liberty is.But I am trying to find things to do. We want to enjoy things while we are there - not spend entire time in room.So I am online today seeing what can be done today . ssssiiiggghhh what ever we do is being done with the exwife uuuggghhh..,.

We get along its not that we don't. We put up with each other for his sake. She's a good mom. Just the Ex thing.

OH MAN, Sheshe - can I feel you on the EX thing! I just spend 3 days in Gatlinburg, TN for my husband's oldest daughter's wedding. IT (as I like to call his ex) was nice but looked like she had been sucking on a sour pickle for a week. Everyone else was fine, she was terrible. Hang in there and don't worry about the ex. Let them fend for themselves. I doubt my Ex (my SR's dad) will even come to PIR. He was not very involved with her in ROTC and I truely think he's in denial of her being in the Navy. Shame.

I have my reservations made. My time off has been approved. Now just have to wait the next 4 weeks and 4 day until I get to see him. The easy stuff is done now just the hard part is left... waiting.

I'm glad my SR cannot read this post. The EX just called. Asked me if I've heard from her, I said I got 2 letters after 3 weeks of waiting. Tried to explain to him that she is not exactly sitting around eating bon-bons and resting. Tried to tell him how hard she is working in boot camp AND duties when involved in a "900 Club". He did nothing but give me grief and told me that he has a reservation for a hotel to come see her for PIR but if he doesn't hear from her by this week - he's not going. He told me he's sent her one card ~ ONE CARD! That's all. I've written to her daily sending her anything I can to lift her spirits and do well. He expects her to stop what she's doing and write him. As if she can do that! He has absolutely no concept of boot camp let alone what she is going through. "Well, if she cannot stop for 5 minutes and write me a letter..." He is so much in the dark, it is sad. I just had to get this off my chest. My husband has supporter her more in this choice than her own father has....and she knows it and sees it. UGH, just makes me want to scream when the EX pulls this attitude.

So sorry Anita. It's so hard to watch our kids put up with these hardships. Looks like the ex is getting what he gives ................... not much. Looks like you're getting what YOU give ................... a LOT. In the end, these kids are over whelmed and deserve support and not more grief. Lucky for your SR, they have YOU! Some SR's have no one.
