This Discussion is for loved ones of Recruits in Division 947. Your Recruits will be training together, so perhaps you would like to get to know each other on here.

Since your Recruit is in a performing division, you may also want to join the Group, 900's division sailors. There will be information on there that relates to your situation.

Besides playing an instrument or singing, there are also Recruits/Sailors who will do color guard, carry state flags, act as escorts, do rifle guard--lots of important jobs. They are usually involved in the PIR before theirs and sometimes in the one 2 weeks before their own as well.

Here is a site I found that explains about 900 Divisions.

Aaron's mom, I know exactly what you mean.  I have sent a letter every day since she got there.  I really hope they've started receiving mail by now.  I hate to think of them wanting to hear from home but not getting our letters!
Yay for our sailors being in an honor division! I am so excited to see them perform. In high school, my fiance was in the choir but I never got a chance to hear him sing. I'm hoping he'll get to be a part of the choir at graduation! Are there any other young girls in this group who have a fiance? I'm hoping to meet a few so we can discuss what we're going through.
Welcome mrs cookiemonster ;)
Hi mom :)

Hi 947 Moms, how is everyone doing?  We're almost two weeks into this now.  I cannot wait to get a letter!

I can't wait for a letter either. It will be wonderful to hear how he is doing. I am so proud of him but miss him so much.
Same here!  I am keeping my chin up knowing that he made this choice and it's what he wants for his life right now - but boy - I sure could use one of his amazing bear hugs!  October 7th is coming - it really is!!
Darlene, I cannot believe it has been almost 2 weeks already! Tomorrow it will be 2 weeks since I saw my girl! For me, it helps that she left two days before school started for my 4 that are still in school! That has given me something to keep busy with! I have 3 in high school this year ( a little bit better than having 4 in high school last year) and 1 in elementary. I also have another 18 yr old who is being a lazy bum and not going and getting a job like we told him to. With all the kids' sports practices and going to seminary (scripture study) before school, I stay pretty busy! I am hoping to get a letter soon but I know from personal experience it is hard to find time to write when you are in boot camp!
I hope everyone is having a great day and that this is getting easier for them!!!!!

If anyone is in need of a good laugh...check this out. I've heard 900 Divisions called Perfomance Divisions...I couldn't help but giggle when I saw this, wondering if this is the kind of performance our recruits are training for...

That was pretty cute!!!! I am looking forward to seeing our recruits performing at graduation. I have seen the performance from the other side when I graduated boot camp but you don't really get to see the whole thing that way and you are too focused on what you need to do! I just really cannot wait to see my girl!!!!
Just starting to get this information out - We will be scheduling a meet and greet on Thursday October 6th for all the familes of the PIR group for 10/7.  Keep an eye out for the event invite.  I'm just waiting to get a little more information on a couple of things before I schedule it for sure and send invites, but wanted to let everyone know about it early.  It will be a great way for us to meet each other.  Hope to see everyone there!
Yesterday was especially difficult! I was really missing my girl and then I found out that my stepmom, who I was really close to, passed away yesterday morning from a massive heart attack. I have been debating since about whether to send my girl a Red Cross message. I know they won't send her home, heck I can't even go to the funeral because of the cost of plane tickets, but I do think she would want to know. Just such a rough time right now!!!!
