While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I have not heard of Waypoint but will find where it is located and let you know. Your husband will have to deal with the tunnel traffic but my husband knows people who live closer to his job and it takes them just as long if not longer to get home. He has been driving over there for 30+ years.

Went by the apartments today. They are located on the far side of Hampton near a small community town called Poquoson. I have not heard of any problems out that way. It is located near NASA (wind tunnels-if operational, they are in the process of tearing one down-they make a lot of noise, not sure how loud it would be if you are that close), also near-by is Langley Speedway so during the summer you can count on hearing the race cars. Langley Air Force Base is also kinda of close so you might hear the jets.
I don't believe there are any other apartments or houses near-by....talking like right next door or such. The apartments are not too far from a main highway that your husband could take to get to interstate to get to Norfolk. Back to the tunnel issue....the only way to Norfolk from Hampton is to either go thru at least 1 tunnel (maybe 2) or go over a bridge and maybe a tunnel. If the traffic is stopped or the back-up is too long....the other tunnel/bridge would be an option but it is a longer route because you are actually having to go around and not straight to. I have only known of one time when both tunnels had a major problem at the same time. If you live in Norfolk/VA Beach or one of the other areas on the southside....you can always learn the back roads and maybe get around some of the traffic.

Thank you so much, that's really awesome that you actually went to check out the apartments! I'm glad it in a nice area but I don't know how I feel about all that noise..and hub said he wont mind the traffic at all. Thanks again!
