Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed.  Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My SR left August 4th, graduating September 30th (Ship 12 Div 325), as far as I can tell I should expect his pay the first week of September correct? I like everyone else in my situation am worried about rent, my husband is not here to contribute and I do not have enough money to cover the entire amount. Has anyone else received a check? (I am sure the answer is no, just curious) I believe I have until the 5th of every month, so I plan on writing the check then and sending it out. Our property management company is extremely uncooperative, so asking for an extension is not an option for us. I do understand how the pay works, I am just looking to see if anyone can offer information in regards to my estimate of receiving it the first week of September. Thanks! :-)

Same situation, I'm about to move and I'm freaking out about not having the money but when I talked to him he said that he would be getting back pay along with the regular check on the 1st (31st for us because we have USAA and they pay the day before) so hopefully that will get you what you need when you need it for rent and such. Also apparently even if your husband goes in as a higher rate (E2,E3) they will still only be getting E1 pay till after PIR, I'm not sure how it is going to work though because I've heard mixed answers and I'm not sure when dependent pay kicks in either
My husband left for basic july 14. We were told that he would get paid on the 1st of August. When the first of August came there was no money so I was then told that he wouldn't get paid until the 15th of August. The recruiter told me that it takes about a month to get everything for pay processed. I'm a stay at home mom so it was really important that we get that money. I hope this helps!  Do you opened an account with Navy Federal or does he already have one?
Thank you! No we were not going to open an account with Navy Fed until he gets back from A school. If it takes 30 days that is fine.
Oh ok. Well to my understanding the money should be tranferred to whichever account number he gave them. Navy Fed's a great bank! Good luck girl! :)

Dependent pay? The E1 pay is fine, I make plenty of money but I have had to cover all the bills this month which I am not used to, along with several unexpected expenses. What is USAA? Thanks for the added info, it helps a lot. I love how each one of us can add what we know, it’s like little puzzle pieces :-) As long as it is 1/2 a paycheck I will be ok. What job did your husband get?

Spouses and children are dependents, if you are married. USAA is a bank branch that deals with Military, I believe Navy Federal is along the same lines.

 

Heh yeah it just takes a little fine tuning to get use to everything.

 

My husband is going for CTR and will be going to A school in Pensacola, so me and my pregnant butt get to my to FL for a few months =). Yours?

Yoeman, he will be going to Mississippi for 7 weeks, so I don't have to go anywhere until he gets his first duty station :0)
The main reason I'm moving with him is because this is our first baby and I want to be close when she comes so maybe, just maybe, they let him come to her birth and even if they don't he will still be able to see her soon.
That should be right. I received my husband's paycheck about half way through Basic. As for the property management company, I'm not sure what to tell you :( My landlords were very cooperative and forgiving during that time, but just keep trying to speak to supervisors and make sure you tell them it's because he's in Basic Training and he'll be serving our country! No one wants to be un-cooperative with a service member!
I tried telling our car insurance company that my husband was in basic and they wouldn't give us an extension! :( 
Well the man I deal with at the management company is the owner and right before my husband left we went through an issue where the carpet needed to be replaced due to dust mites. My 11 month old had devleloped chronic upper respitory due to them and we had a doctors note stating the carpet was the cause. The mgmt co. stated the carpet was 5 years old (YUK) and the people before us had pets, they pretty much tried to get us to leave instead of replacing the carpet even after telling him my husband was leaving for the Navy 2 weeks later. The man screamed at me, made me cry at work and went off on my husband, lets just say I am very doubtful they will allow late rent without fees, etc. Everyone else has been very helpful, rent is my only hurtle, as long as it is there by the 5th I will be ok. Thanks for the info!
