My daughter is very happy with her new living space.  She is complaining about the heat... it was a 104 yesterday and 94 at 7 AM.  She's been trying to keep hydrated by drinking lots of liquids.  Their actual class doesn't start until August 30, which means they come home around Christmas.
My daughter Angie is pretty happy down there right now too.  I do think it is kinda crappy that there is no shuttle service though.  She says it is about 2 miles from the dorm to the PX.  I am excited about her coming home around Christmas time.  She is really anxious for class to start and is trying hard not to spend money right now.  It is nice being able to talk on the phone and skype. PIR weekend went by way too quick..so it is good to get to talk daily.  She doesn't have internet in her room, but has used it over at the PX. She says her class will be 220.

Yeah my daughter said the same thing about the long walk to the NEX.  She wants her car now, I'm going to see about getting it over to her in about two or three weeks.

My daughter is staying in a seperate dorm from the other new arrivals (her and another girl) due to the over flow.  She says they have a common area (dayroom) with several big flat screen tv's and a large flat screen computer (free to use).  You have to pay to use the one over at the NEX, so tell your daughter to visit the other side for the computer.

Thanks for letting me know about the computer over there.  I have heard different things about whether they can have their vehicle.  I asked her last night and she said that they were told no due to the parking situation?  The rules seem to be changing daily.  Anyways, I think she is going down to Riverwalk this weekend and to the mall-I told her she better get out and see some things before she has to start studying!
Hi ladies I am going to pick up my daughter along with about 4 or 5 more girl to take them to the mall I know some of them are from this pir group but I don't know who they belong to I'm taking them to get nails and toes done and shop at the mall and eat mexican food living so close I get to do all these fun things with them!
.....my daughter talked about this trip too so maybe she went :)
What is her name I am picking them up in the morning my daughter is ASHER it would be nice if they are still together

I texted my daughter today to see if she was going out this weekend.  She said no because she has watch from 1300-1700.  I am not sure what day though.  I hope she at least gets out a little bit.  She had a bad day today....she failed her first room inspection-apparently her roommate likes to sleep in and forgot to take out the trash.  I told her part of being an adult is talking these things out.

Kathy-have a great weekend with the girls!  I know they will appreciate it.
