My SR left Aug 4, received 2 letters last Thursday however still no phone call. I've now read several others received a 3 week phone call. When I researched it, I found out they are only guaranteed 2 calls, the one when they arrive and 1 a week prior to PIR to tell you they are no longer SR but Sailors, all other calls are earned. I can only assume now that my SR has not yet earned a call, I am feeling really down.

Don't feel too bad, my SR got his first earned call at week 4 after passing inspections, that's how they earn them so there's a chance your SR hasn't had inspections yet. And also know that Monday is not day 1 of the week for them for ex my SR's division started the week on Thurs. So even though he's been gone for almost 4 weeks he could just be in week 3 or even still just week 2 of training! Be happy with your letters & don't expect a phone call so when you get one you'll be ecstatic!! Also-they are earned as a div, I haven't heard of SR's earning them individually. And also keep your phone with you ALWAYS I've gotten calls at 5 in the afternoon, 9 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 7 at night so you never know when they're gonna let them call! And the area code is an 847 one :)
That is strange because they got calls today...mine was a minute and everyone else's was around five minutes or so...they earned the call today because they got their first flag as a division...but he may have had a job to do
Yes if they have watch they won't get to call- or did he need his wisdom teeth out by any chance? This is the week they usually do it, if he had those removed he'll be on bed rest for 2 days & won't get to call either.
Exactly, so don't worry...I know it is hard without their voice but just remember, we are so close to being through this and tomorrow=letters
No wisdom teeth, he is a yoeman so he is doing all of the admin for all 80 recruits in that division. Thanks but honestly letters don't cut it at this point, it's nothing compared to a call. My phone is on me 24/7 so no worries there, I guess I'm sol because everyone else in his division got a call today. Hopefully I'll get one soon :-( my letter didn't come until Thursday last week
I'm sorry, I know it is hard but you have to remember they are doing this for us and to better our lives as well
