By the way I'm new to this site and just looking for a some people to chat with. My husband left 6 days after our daughter was born so It's been really hard to not here from. Also anyone else a wife of someone headed to the nuke program trying to get a Head start on making friends!
My husband is not a nuke, but I know several guys who have gone that route! He will be really successful there. It's a great program with lots of benefits. The schooling is long, but at least you will be able to move to where his A-School is, if you want to. It gets better after basic (lots of military in my world). Congratulations on the new baby. =) If you ever need someone to talk to. I'm here.
Hi, welcome.  My son is going to be headed to the Nuke A School in Charleston too!  It's been the longest 2 1/2 wks.  The only communication has been the 10 second arrival call and the form letter; other than that no letters or phone calls.  I am praying we get a call and letter this week!  Congratulations on the birth of your daughter!!
Go to the Page, Ratings, A School Locations, and Links to Groups, to find a group or groups for his A School and/or Rating.
my dad was army but was out when i was young so i don't remember any of it but judging by ppl's post that there sr's left a week before ours this is our week letters should come between tomorrow and friday and any calls will be sat or Sunday i hope!
Did you get a form letter at least?
o yea i got that last wed and insuryesterdayance paper work
AH okay. I got the insurance information yesterday too! =)
does anyone know as a wife if we can expect a check on the 1st or the 15th of sept
You should receive one on both days, but it will be direct deposit. Not a check. I'm not sure if we will get a check the 1st if they didn't get the information in the system fast enough. However, they had 2 weeks to do so, so I'd assume they would. =)
Look at the Page, When Will the Recruits be Paid?, for more information on how the pay works.

Hi my son is in Ship 9 Div 338. He is 20 yrs old. I don't know if he likes it or not. Will let everyone know whenever we hear from him. This is my second time around. My daughter graduated bootcamp in May, then A-school in July. She got to spend a 20 day liberty with us and then was shipped out overseas on the Aircraft Carrier USS George H. W. Bush. She was real homesick in bootcamp, but it's worse now that she is overseas. My son says he's not going to be like her. Time will tell. Glad to meet all of you!!
