For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello all-I am a proud mom of an SR in Ship 09 Div. 338..Just got my 1st letter and can't stop crying..He is doing ok but is very homesick. He is barely 18..He says that the other DIV, his brothertives are not so nice. He has 2 RDCs that are ok but the female one is real mean and calls them horrible names. I know this is hard for him to hear as I firmly believed when he was growing up that saying negative names to him and his sister served no purpose in life other than to demoralize them. I grew up navy brat and do know what to expect, but it is still hard as a mom to hear things like that. I hope his DIV continues to do well and can't wait to go to PIR.

My son is also 23 and in his letter yesterday he said he has adjusted pretty well to BC life and its not as diffcult as he thought it would be. I think DEP and all the time he to prepare has helped him. He is in Ship 09 Div 337, I sure hope he's not being mean to anyone. I would hope not, being the youngest of three he knows what its like to be picked on.

I think if you put a bunch of boys, no matter the age, in small quarters and expect them to immediately get along and work together there's bound to be issues. But in the end they won't have any choice but to learn to deal with each other.

My husband is very quiet but he was a PIC at his job for years so hopefully he'll speak up and keep people off each other. Otherwise he's probably just ignoring it. Lol.
I would definitely like to hear from him though.

PIC? My son is pretty quiet also. He worked at a pet store for the last 4 years and had been the asst. manager so he did have to grow up there to beable to manager other staff & even fire a couple.

My son is in Ship 09 Div 337. I received a letter today! It was so nice to read the first few lines, but then he said that the division has been getting in trouble and have had to do lots of IT (intense training) so they are not getting much free time to be able to write. He said they can only send mail out on Sundays. There was no deposit in his bank account either, so it looks like it may be Sept. 15th before they will get paid. I thought maybe since they were in the push program they would get paid today, but guess not. I did find out that the PIR 10/7 will be graduating in dress blues.... Yey!!!

I have a feeling that they have a lot of hard workers and a lot of people who like to get in trouble. It's usually that way. IT may suck but it's the same track seals take and in the long run it will pay off. I wonder how many seal recruits they have? That would be one of the biggest reasons they are doing IT. You can volunteer to do IT anyways, my friend did when he was in basic. Hopefully they'll get their stuff together.
Yeah I'm guessing the 15th as well.
